We can't risk our boys having to miss the priesthood session to play a Saturday football game.

It's starting to become a rivalry as USU gets better and more competitive.
I honestly am not tryingto be your shadow, but how good would a future schedule have to be to be a ton better. That is like saying the date you had last night was a ton better than Rosey O'Donnell. You were out with RoseAnne Barr.

      • I'm just listing off 2013, but Texas, @Hawaii, @Utah State, Georgia Tech, @Houston, Boise State, @Notre Dame, @Washington State, Utah (pending).

Those 9 games already are pretty impressive in my opinion, could be 8 if Utah/BYU rivalry ends like I think it could. The schedule has a lot better games in October, and Notre Dame in November as well. I think that's miles better than this years. If they had another BCS team or two it would be perfect to add on there, that's schedule is pretty good.

        • 2013 is awesome. Everyone is in agreement there.

          2011, 2012, 2014-beyond.....not so much.

If they could add 2 BCS teams to the 2014 schedule it would look good as well, we can't predict the future, but even the UCF and Southern Miss have been the upper tier C-USA teams, and UCF might/probably will be in the Big East by then.

@Texas, Houston, @Georgia Tech, @ Boise State, Southern Miss, Utah State, @UCF, @Utah, Hawaii. I think it would be a good schedule if they added a home game or two against a decent BCS conference.

Plus there was a bunch of rumors of Wisconsin, neutral game against Penn State, etc. So who knows at this point.

            • Just wondering since this is basically the last little bit of the 2012 schedule, is BYU announced to play Idaho next year or is it just a possible game next year? With a lot of realignment and movement, figured that maybe a team that's on a move to a different conference might want to schedule BYU, I'd rather see BYU at least play LA Tech instead of Idaho anyway.

I know you're joking, but I actually think that BYU agrees with your comment. It makes no sense to me. BYU used to play games on conference Saturday all the time. Why not now? I could understand them not wanting a home game, but why not play a good game on the road that day?

                  Conference weekend is awesome.

We get three High Holy Days in a row. Conference Saturday, the "Sabbath" and then Family Night!

                  BOOYAH!

You can't have the game competing with the GAs. Everyone knows the GAs would lose.

Here is a chance for BYU to play at Ohio Stadium. I think TH should get on this.. Yes they are looking at UCF, but lets get this done.

BYU plays Weber St. on this date next year.. Talk about an upgrade..

Yeah, I saw that. I guess what is bothersome is if our BYU Admin is even being proactive in their search for opponents. You see all this conference realignment and you know it will have an impact on schedules. Why are they not contacting these programs and letting them know we are open for games if they need a filler or a replacement. Are they even reaching out to schools like tOSU or Michigan, Michigan State, Mizzou, Northwestern, Illini, Indiana (This would be a good one), Minnesota, Wiscounsin, etc. I have not seen any games against big 1G opponents or other BCS schools like Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Kansas, Louisville, Cincy, etc..

I am just disappointed in a missed opportunity and it seems BYU is not even an after thought for some of these schools... What is BYU doing to get more games???

Does the Big10 play meaningful OOC games? I thought they filled their OOC with patsies.

I think some of them tend to play one strong game and the rest are patsies.. tOSU in the last decade has played these OOC games..

Why is BYU not trying to play them?? I think tOSU would be open to it even if it is a 2-1 or 2-0 spread over 4 years. I really don't care.. Play these types of games... Lets stop pretending we are have AQ status.. That has been lost.. Lets get it the respect back..
