I'll tell you what we expect. Home and homes with a couple of respectable programs before we jump up and down for an announcement with ECU. And I don't think that's much to ask for.

Correct. ECU as one of a few filler games is just fine. ECU as a staple for the whole schedule, not fine.

My rule of thumb: if you have to remind me of the one time a school had a quality win, I am not very excited to play that school.

If the proposed opponent requires no background info, explanation or justification, I am excited to be in a conference with that school.

Agree. But like I said. It could be Weber St or Southern Utah...

Houston is in the top 10 this year. Boise State has been a fixture in the top 10 for awhile now. If you're waiting for a home and home with Nebraska then apparently you're overestimating BYU's value in the eyes of other programs -- a mistake that has unfortunately been made by others who have some power within the BYU sphere.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Hence the problem with independence. We see that.

Home and home against East Carolina is acceptable I would think, not a powerhouse or great team by any means, but they've had a string of being pretty good in the past 6 years or so, and they sell out their 50,000 seat stadium every week.

I'm curious to see how these bizarre roadies go over with the traveling fans. At Ole miss and Texas, you had all the local Mos making the trek as well as the traditional contingent of fans that want to hit up the cool venues.

When BYU plays East Carolina, I am confident that we will still see the local Mo contingency show up, but how many people will actually buy plane tickets and fly across the country for that game?

Mixed feelings, but more than likely would not travel for that game..

Why doesn't jefe just admit that his format sucks and make the switch to v-bulletin? how much more of v bulletin functionality can he swipe?
He is so far down the rabbit hole that porting the data to v-bulletin and making a smooth transition is just an enormous amount of work. Plus, he probably still takes great pride in knowing he coded it.

The fan base might get convinced we have great home schedules going forward. Wrubell is working his butt off with tweets about how great Independence is.

Then you have fans on CB posting like this with yea's and right on's.

Maybe I missed something. What are the great home games in 2014 that shuts down anyone complaining about scheduling. Is TBA code for BCS powerhouse?

Agreed 100%. Still waiting on those "Top 10 schools beating down our doors to schedule us" that TH mentioned a while ago.

Just seen a Tweet from Wrubell about some scheduling news about Hawaii. Certainly not what Bronco had hoped (having Hawaii at the end of the year). Maybe Craig Thompson didn't want Hawaii having BYU at home at the end of the MWC season.

There's another hole in November/early December. Although I'm confused with what Wrubell's posting, doesn't BYU play Weber State at home on September 8th next year?

EDIT: Just seen on FBSchedules Twitter that the September 8th game will probably change with Weber State on the 8th.
