To be honest, the independence isn't going to be too bad if they don't end up getting into the Big 12 eventually, my only big issue is the lack of non-BCS bowl game choice, but with the future schedule I think an auto BCS bid would be given some consideration at their future schedules down the line, they actually do look much better than this years crap schedule.Comment

Most of the time, help means that when you are trying to do something the person helping provides support to make it happen. For most of us, having someone help us doesn't mean that we are asking them to do all of it...or as in your case having them step in and tell us what to do and when to do it.Comment

I think a big problem we're facing now is that people know we're desperate. I think it was actually easier for the BYU AD to pick up the phone and schedule a 1:1 with a BCS school (the biggies like ND, TX, etc. are exceptions) back when we were in the MWC.Comment

People are overreacting in my opinion, the schedule in 2013 and beyond actually looks pretty impressive, even next year is a big improvement over this years crap schedule.Comment

Washington State, Oregon State, Houston, Boise State, Hawaii? All those schools are in a recognizable conference (the PAC-12 schools), or one of the BCS busters that are more nationally known.
BYU will have to suffer through the fact that they get a 2:1 with Texas and ND (although they might get more home games against ND).Comment
