"Bronco on KSLRadio says they have games lined up next November-ESPN is helping line up those games. Not ready to announce yet"
So, ESPN is telling who BYU it will play and when BYU will play them?
Independence rocks!

Listen. We have the freedom to play whomever we want, whenever we want and wherever we want! Independence is soooo liberating! Nobody is telling us what to do!

To be honest, the independence isn't going to be too bad if they don't end up getting into the Big 12 eventually, my only big issue is the lack of non-BCS bowl game choice, but with the future schedule I think an auto BCS bid would be given some consideration at their future schedules down the line, they actually do look much better than this years crap schedule.

This reminds me of a super funny cartoon I recently saw. Two BYU football players on an island talking about independence.

I can see how you would think this. I'm sure when people offer to help you with something, really their intent is to tell you what to do and when to do it.
So I can see the confusion.
Most of the time, help means that when you are trying to do something the person helping provides support to make it happen. For most of us, having someone help us doesn't mean that we are asking them to do all of it...or as in your case having them step in and tell us what to do and when to do it.

You got me. Good one.

I think a big problem we're facing now is that people know we're desperate. I think it was actually easier for the BYU AD to pick up the phone and schedule a 1:1 with a BCS school (the biggies like ND, TX, etc. are exceptions) back when we were in the MWC.
People are overreacting in my opinion, the schedule in 2013 and beyond actually looks pretty impressive, even next year is a big improvement over this years crap schedule.

What home and home's have we scheduled?
Who do we have for games the last six weeks of the season?
Washington State, Oregon State, Houston, Boise State, Hawaii? All those schools are in a recognizable conference (the PAC-12 schools), or one of the BCS busters that are more nationally known.
BYU will have to suffer through the fact that they get a 2:1 with Texas and ND (although they might get more home games against ND).

So after one year of frantic scheduling for years into the future, we have home and home's with exactly two BCS schools. And neither of those games are going to be the last six games of the season? But you think it's a smashing success?
