I was looking more at their total offensive output

500+ yd/game is impressive, but I want to see if that is smoke or fire.

Colorado will not be our rival, they aren't any good. Rivalries develop over time when schools compete for important things like conference championships. Since BYU will never win another one of those it is sort of off the radar as anything other than a novelty game. I think the real Utah rivalries will develop, in time, with whoever the other competitive teams in Utah's yet to be announced division are.

In this, I agree, BYU and Utah were never rivals.

I am just happy for Gary Andersen. I don't imagine he will be at Utah State long.

You know, for how much crap you give SU, you two are more alike than different.

              That's a shame.

Is it time to change the board name? I kind of like TD's suggestion "cougarstadium.com"

They are programs with completely different trajectories at this point. But unlike BYU, I do expect that USC will overcome it's current coach and be a great team again. I'm glad we will still be cheering for rival teams. You and HFN are the only friends we won't be leaving behind. It will be nice to have some familiar faces along for the ride!

There is no hope for us? Things will never get better?

Considering that BYU and Utah have never really played for a conference championship, I think UD's bluster about the rivalry is a bit misplaced.

USC will always be a great team. Hence when they are 4-1, most consider the season to be a failure.

Utah in the PAC will be fun and I think they will do well.

Your hope that a rivalry will be developed with any of the big schools is misguided, although I don't blame you. SC has one rival...Notre Dame. UCLA is a local nuisance.

UW and Oregon hate each other.

                        Stanford and Kal.

Beyond that, who knows. Perhaps the Utes can get something going with the Zona Zoo. There is just way too much history between the other schools to ever really be a part of it. Not saying that the schools won't enjoy hosting the Utes or visiting RES. Just that there will never be a day when SC or UW consider Utah to be a rival.

Nonetheless, welcome to the PAC and you can now openly worship at the altar of USC, whereas you previously only could do so in secret.

Remember back in 2004 TopUte said this that BYU was done and that they will never be back on top. Never. 4 straight 10 win seasons later.......He predicts the same thing with us going independent. I think that is a good sign.

WTF? How can you be a rival with ND with no conf. championship on the line?
