      Fascinating read.

Amazing to see college chancellors Emailing each other like the were calling a sports talk show. Seeing that makes one wonder what Darth Dodds is up to down at UT where all this started:

Bronco needs to take a page from the Kobra Kai and show no mercy. RUTS every single game. That'll teach 'em to railroad BYU's plans.

Amen. Don't we play Fresno in basketball this year? I hope Jimmer drops 100 on them. Fresno are some dirty dogs.

Celveland gets a pass for his basketball team, we should just beat them handily.

I don't know about Collin Cowherd but I read this somewhere as well. After the USC-Texas, Texas-ND, and BYU-Texas announcements this started me wondering if USC and Texas are hedging with the possibility of going independent. Looking at the numbers I can see why USC would leave if the Pac-10 (or Pac-12) goes to 100% sharing. It seems that the Pac-12 may be as unstable as the Big 12 and MWC.

The greed. Teams will always want more money even if it means breaking ties with old rivals and conferences.

What is ironic about all of this is CU may actually get less money in the Pac-12. They left a conference that was dominated by a greedy Texas school to join a conference dominated by greedy LA schools. If Larry Scott can't get significantly more money with the new TV contracts CU will get less money than they were getting in the Big 12. On top of that they will have to pay a multimillion dollar exit fee. Maybe this is part of the reason they are staying another season in the Big 12. If the Pac-12-1 tv contract negotiations go bad for Larry maybe CU will try to buy their way back into the Big 12 rather than buy their way out of it.

This is the primary reason that CU is staying. They need the extra year of Big 12 revenue.

Do you really blame them, CMBF, for rejecting a deal that would have locked them in the WAC for 5 years while BYU could leave to an AQ conference at any time?
