Can you imagine how much ESPN would love to be able to have a contract to broadcast Texas, OU, etc. without having also do Iowa State games? And extend that to every conference.

Yup. And imagine their hand in scheduling. They'd be setting up huge games, the kind everyone wants to see. But then they'll all probably be PPV. This is all fun to speculate about. But in seriousness, the one thing that has become clearly evident is how little power the NCAA wields.

But BYU fans, as shown in the last week, will say anything to put a better spin on their sudden irrelevance in college football.

I'm true blue through and through whatever happens with independence. Heck, I've already got the road trip to Buffalo and the Vermont Bball games planned! Those games are only an hour and half away!

I can't wait until there is some real news on the independence front. As I'm still in "can't get enough news" mode, I'm getting about 100 tweets a day from various writers. In just a few days I've learned to dread the end of BYU practice. Why? Because every writer decides to tweet the QB comparison stats about 3 times each. Then they retweet each other's tweets about the same stats. Brutal. I've never followed camp very closely and now I know why.
