You know, it wouldn't surprise me. One reason for conference affiliation, at least as far as football was concerned, was access to a premier bowl game and the money associated with that bowl. In fact, the NCAA seems to have yielded any oversight over Div I football to what the major bowls (and now the BCS) want to do. He's actually a morning anchor for the Vegas CBS affiliate. He did Vegas sports for that same station for a long time. The problem is I don't watch local news or sports shows unless I'm at the gym and I can't avoid it without falling off the treadmill.
