Putting "-gate" on the end of anything is about as lame as it gets."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I always knew that PAC was a sacred cow here. I never knew Holmoe was so much one. I'm sure if I came here with pictures of the two of them in an incriminating situation everyone would scream and yell that I just got owned by them. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

There was a cookiegate and a hamburgergate. Cookiegate with the entire team, and hamburgergate with the kid who lost his parent. Horn or something.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostWhat the hell is hamburgergate? It was cookiegate.
And you call yourself a fan?
For what it's worth, I think Hill is high on integrity and a little lower on competance. I think Holmoe is high on competance and a little lower on integrity.

As PAC has said, all the Cal fans I know (and I know a few rabid hard core fans) think very highly of Holmoe's personal integrity, but just not so highly of his ability to coach or run a football program.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I think the way the system is set up at BYU makes it difficult to have high integrity. You can mislead people all you want and not worry about it, after all God is directing you. A lighter version of it being OK to cut of someone's head. You know better than, than all BYU students and alum dwindle in disbelief.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostThere was a cookiegate and a hamburgergate. Practice-gate was a lot bigger deal than cookie-gate or hamburger-gate.

Yeah right. Meanwhile Holmoe is sputtering gobbledygook about "other opportunies" due to newly broken "commitments" to dissemble his way out of taking any responsibility for the current expansion disaster. Not sure what Holmoe has done other than hire the only coaches available to him and had a historicaly disastrous and disgraceful tenure as a coach at Cal. Maybe you can enlighten me.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostThere was a cookiegate and a hamburgergate. Cookiegate with the entire team, and hamburgergate with the kid who lost his parent. You have proven time and time again when it comes to subjects like this, your mind isn't receptive to being enlightened. Therefor one is left to not enlightening, but taking you to the woodshed like PAC does.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYeah right. BYU's sports programs have done quite well since Holmoe took over, so he's done quite a bit. And Holmoe mentioning other opportunities is actually putting more pressure on himself now since BYU fans will expect some thing to happen since he made those comments. And he said that knowing how BYU fans would take it.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYeah right. In the PAC-10 they don't learn, they teach. I think that's written somewhere in Palo Alto.Originally posted by creekster View PostYou just don't learn."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
