    Understood.

Can he add a handlebar moustache to your photo in MS Paint and then use it? That would be neat.

Me too, although I'm leaning more toward the latter

At the risk of being accused of name-dropping, I actually knew the man pretty well back in the day. He is like many men of genius - more complex and more driven than most people and also more flawed -- something he would be the first to admit. He is wicked smart too. I do think he reached his expiration date at the U. Those among fandom -- whether Utes or Cougars --who judge him are usually judging a caricature. Beyond that I won't say.

I really know very little about Tom Holmoe and have no opinion about him. As for Chris Hill, he is a plain-spoken Jersey boy from fairly humble beginnings. He is one of the kindest and most principled people I have ever known and is one of the rare men who can combine a fiery competitive streak (he did play Division 1 basketball at Rutgers) with real decency and class. I think the world of him. Because of his plain-spoken manner, people often underestimate him. So far, his opponents who have done so have come out on the short end.

Coaching hires? He misfired with Giac, but finding a successor to the Big Guy was always going to be hard. (He still almost got Lon Kruger.) After his hires of Majerus, McBride, Meyer, and Whittingham I am willing to cut Chris a lot of slack. His having to settle for Boylen is still part of the post-Majerus recovery. Either Jimmy will now pick it up and succeed or Chris will get a very solid replacement.

I see BYU fans believe in the same nonsense Utes do that AD's have something to do with what goes on on the field.
I think you are overstating your case. Without Hill, the PAC10 would still be a Ute fan fantasy.

Anyway, that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

I am starting to get a little jealous. Why doesn't anyone ever use my photo as an avatar?

I don't need goggles to see that you are trying desperately to dig yourself out of a hole created by your own stupidity.

There are consequences for every choice and a direct consequence of Utah's choice is that you are irrelevant.

                      • I don't know how many times I have to say this:

BYUTV is currently carried as a public service by cable/sat operators. The second BYU starts trying to commercialize BYUTV, the cable/sat operators will do one of the following:

                        1. Dump it
                        2. Move it to a super-high tier where they will charge for it.

There is NO WAY that the cable/sat operators will pay to carry BYUTV on a basic tier, just like they pay to carry ESPN, if BYUTV were to become a commercial enterprise.

Yes indeed, you are a big fat meanie.
                          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I also like that they list Julie Beck as an owner.

                              • And right at the top of the FCC's rules:

                                http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/nature.html

Recent cases before the Commission indicate that some noncommercial broadcasters have aired outright commercial messages on behalf of profit making entities in violation of our rules and the statute (footnote omitted). As our action in those cases attest, we will enforce our prohibition on the broadcast of commercial messages on behalf of profit making enterprises for which consideration is paid to the station. Information brought to the attention of the Commission regarding such practices will be scrutinized and licensees found to have engaged in them will be sanctioned.
