I think they would try, but it would be hard to find a leg to stand on if they don't block A&M from leaving. But they could be included either way, who knows! It isn't like everyone has to be a powerhouse in football or we should all just join the SEC. And they do okay in BB.

I assume he was referring to all the things that have been said regarding BYU's complete commitment to independence. But, I wasn't at the lunch, and it didn't sound like Samuelson expounded much.
This comes directly from someone who had lunch with President Samuelson this afternoon.
The president was asked what's going on with the football team, I was told he responded as follows:
"Someday people are going to learn that when we say something, we mean it. We are not joining the Big 12."
I think he needs to ask the lord again.

Since there are at least two people in this exchange claiming second-hand inside info without any serious corroboration, I would expect some level of mutual respect to be shown, regardless of one's particular agreement.
