If TAMU leaves and BYU turns down an invite then I can see us being taken off UT's future schedule for a couple of reasons: the thanksgiving UT/a&m game will take an OOC slot (there is just too much money/tradition to stop) and nobody can turn down theUTBig 12 conference and can live to tell about it (except maybe ND). Don't worry, however, I am sure one of the "states" (i.e. Idaho St, NM St, San Jose St, or even Weber St) would step in to fill the hole in BYU's indy schedule."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

No way BYU would turn that down. Texas has royally effed this up. First Nebraska and now aTm and now the SEC is apparently getting into Texas. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that proclamations of Dodds' metaphorical poker playing prowess is pure bullshit. In the long term, a conference sans Nebraska and aTm is much weaker than what they had before.
On the other hand, they conned the PAC 10 into taking it's sloppy seconds off its hands. Maybe Dodds does know what he's doing.Last edited by Color Me Badd Fan; 08-13-2011, 07:39 AM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

All this makes me wonder if BYU jumped to independence too quickly. Letting everything play out another year may have been a better option."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

I've got a feeling the truck will physically be in Texas around Sep 10....hopefully it's not too late.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSomeone needs to be emailing pictures of the HD truck to Texas, like NOW!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Less money in the MWC but better conference than the WCC for all other sports. Staying in the MWC would have been better for fans but it is as of yet unknown if it is better for the school.Originally posted by EuropeanFootballMale View PostWhy would it be better to be a MWestie right now?Dyslexics are teople poo...

For one year? Who cares? In fact I'd take the increased coverage anyway.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostLess money in the MWC but better conference than the WCC for all other sports.
