He may not have said it in that quote, but why else do you think the WCC was calling? There's no other reason a basketball conference calls you in an offseason like this except to say "you're still coming, right?"Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

sure, now you show up.Originally posted by Red Legger View PostI'm tired of this soap opera. Are ya'll sure the Cougars want to ride w/ the Longhorns? When the Jayhawks/mildcats/tiggers/Clones/Dirt Burglars/Pokes invited the Texans into our beloved Big 8, I never thought we'd go thru all these twists and turns. Very un-Midwestern of us. Kind of embarrassing to be involved in this soap opera. This guy here does a nice job of covering it from a Jayhawker point of view:

I hope the soap opera works out and the Hawks and the Cougars end up playing each other. It would be fun.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Texas runs this show.
Unless we decide to walk away from what's left of the old Big 8, that is our fate. This mumbojumbo about KU in the Big East/Pac 16 seems obscene. I cannot imagine playing Syracuse or UCLA in conference. We play those guys to go to the Final Four not in a conference tournament. To be honest, we should've went west 15 years ago and added BYU to the Big 8. Now we're stuck w/ Texas and their ego. On the bright side, the Big 12 is still an economic force w/ UT/OU Football and KU Basketball. It has good schools, bitter rivalries and a colorful history. It just signed a huge tier 2 deal, it allows schools to keep their tier 3 rights and is expecting to sign a huge tier 1 deal in 2015 if it can last that long. It will more than compensate the Cougars if they join. We just need everyone to come to an agreement w/ the Horns and get back to playing games and making money. Hopefully, the Cougars could contribute to this process. Plus, I'd really love to come out an watch the Hawks play in Provo.Originally posted by pellegrino View Postsure, now you show up.

Then tell us what's in it for us, Tom!!! I want to know that indy will take us to great places. I want to know that in the future we can get HH deals with good teams. I want to know that we will be able to find games in October and November. I want to know that we have something to play for if we lose a game that doesn't include a 9th tier bowl game. I want to know that we might be able to get better BCS access. Help us out, Tom!Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostGreg Wrubell (@gregwrubell)

I was told that was great not to long ago on this board.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostThen tell us what's in it for us, Tom!!! I want to know that indy will take us to great places. You dont need any of that. A 2-1 with penn state is just as good as a BCS game.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostThen tell us what's in it for us, Tom!!! It's all over twitter now that neither BYU nor Louisville are interested in a move to the Big 12 as confirmed by both schools' respective AD's.
