We moved from the Bay Area to Pleasant Grove when I was 13. Within the first month we got tagged with an assignment to work on the church welfare farm in AF. There are few things more American than a rural county fair. From fist pumps at the weekend "bump and rub" (not a reference to BYU couples' private activities) to the high cholesterol inducing honey butter dripping off an order of scone bites down to the "YUUUUUUUUUP!" with a rotator cuff tearing thrust up from a starched popper and cowboy hat wearing judge at the 4H animal auction. I agree that adding no one is the right move short of ACC teams coming available.
Hypothetically, if you have to take someone, I think that UConn would be a better addition than Gonzaga even if you have to take them for football too. They have 3x the enrollment, much bigger alumni base, and a bigger metropolitan area. Their basketball success is broader than one coach too. Mark Few has been a coach at Gonzaga since 1989. Gonzaga has a total of 2 conference championships in over 80 years prior to him coaching there.
The only advantage that Gonzaga offers is the Pacific time zone.Comment
