      • Only the Big 12 and SEC should be bowl eligible this year...

The MWC might want to reconsider taking in the Pac 12 leftovers.

Well, sure. The bright side is we will have multiple times the money flowing into the program. Our floor is about to elevate significantly. Also, we can officially let go of the habit of making every loss and every missed recruit an existential crisis. In the long run we are going to be fine.

But I just took a glance at this year's ESPN FPI ratings. The current big 12 members range from 6 (Texas) to 57 (Kansas). The other three newcomers all fit within this range: Houston (51), UCF (31), and Cincinnati (34). BYU is at 64-- dead last.

I am trying to set for myself some realistic expectations for the next few years. They're going to be brutal.

Another bright side is that BYU won't have Texas and Oklahoma to contend with in the Big 12. BYU will be just fine.

We're 4-1 all-time against Texas and Oklahoma. Those are our easy games.

Yes, with Texas and OU gone it will be safe for Nebraska to come back.

Nebraska couldn't turn its back on its B1G rivals like Northwestern, otherwise the Wildcats would be winless in 2022. Speaking of going winless, Nebraska is winless against BYU, there is no safe place for Nebraska.

                          • What's the deal with the 2023 conference schedule? I thought it was supposed to be out early December.

Rumor has it that OU and Texas are exploring some kind of buyout. Hence the delay.
