I agree but the question still remains how many teams does the Big 12 want in its conference?

If the optimal size is 22 or 24 I think it can finish its 4 corner raid and add Utes and ASU and still have room to absorb 6-8 ACC teams.

The only thing I think the future football world has decided is Oregon State and Wazzu are out.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I have no idea what the incentive would be for the Big 10 to add anymore schools out west at this point after UW and Oregon. If they in fact think so little of Stanford, then Stanford will either give up football or play in the Big 12.

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

what is the big XII's position of strength? That they still exist? We've entered into a three-tiered world: the haves (the SEC + BIG 10), the have-a-lot-less (the acc and the BIGXII); and the have have nots (g5). Nothing that the big XII does with basketball or that the acc does with baseball is going to stem that advantage of the haves.

Yup, it looks like the Beavers and Wazzu are in serious trouble.

                  • So, if that is the final configuration for the next 7 years or so, I guess BYU has some OOC games to fill in for Utah and Arizona. The only other game that could be affected is with Stanford. With such a big league, will they just play those games as OOC games, or is BYU going to need to get some quick replacements in 2026 when they have both Utah and Arizona scheduled.

                      • I mean, it sucks that utah is in, everyone on this board/country/world/universe can agree with that, but with all the 4 corner schools in, that means less games for BYU in Texas.

The article is a couple of days old, but todays Washington and Oregon news could only ramp up action in the ACC. Utah adds nothing. The right ACC teams are worth waiting on.
I don't see how all the noise about ACC teams bolting can be anything but fantasy talk. The Grant of Rights is iron clad. I've seen no one make a plausible argument that it can somehow be evaded. The only way out is for a team wanting to leave to buy their rights back, which would be far more expensive than even the $30M a year they are currently getting from ESPN for the next 10 years. And there is nothing compelling either ESPN or the ACC to deal with such an offer.

                            Didn’t think about that. Crap.

Texas is full of pussies! See Uncle Ted.......

                                8 team divisions.

The western 5 could get KSU (EMAW) or KU (Rock Chalk) and Texas Tech (Guns Up) or perhaps they will send the Jayhawk State east and put the western 5 with OSU (Guns Up-aaaah) and Tech and TCU(sweaty man boobs fellow priesthood holder) from Texas.

In any case I still see games in Texas every other year at a minimum and with 2 cross divisional matchups it would be more often than that.
