Those two schools would be the biggest prize for sure. No brainer.

16 is a nice round number for divisions, etc. My dream scenario would be Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and then stop.

Is it bad to hope for a massive stadium fire with blocked exits when CU plays BYU at Lavelle Edwards Stadium?

This may actually happen, if you think about it...

According to the Big 12 contract ESPN the Big 12 can up to four P5 schools pro rata. (And you have already pointed out, this not the case for the B1G.) Colorado is going to announce here shortly they are going to the Big 12. Arizona will be next. OU and UW have been most likely reaching out to the B1G but the current B1G doesn't want to share their money with them. The Big 12 is sitting over on the side saying, "Hey, OU and UW... give us a call." OU and UW may not have a better offer. Stanford and Cal don't care about sports. Utah, ASU, OSU, and WSU are screwed.

You really think the folks at Pac schools are not aware of what is going on? I am convinced they know the reality of their media deal. They know why USC bolted and that a west coast football conference is facing challenges. I don't think anyone is surprised. They have put on a brave face because they have no choice until the day comes they are ready to announce their new homes, but my very uninformed guess is most of them are working feverishly on that new home. In the last week it has only become more public but we have all been watching west coast schools lose interest in big time football for year.

Now Utah might have been more forceful in its stiff upper lip because perhaps there is more danger to them in this west coast culling process as the Big 12 might not want two Utah teams. I personally want Utah in the Big 12 but so far I haven't gotten my way. But that is OK-I wanted BYU in then Big 12 since 2010 and it took 11 years there so I can be patient.

Here is a slightly different answer to your question: OU and Washington are not getting an invite because ... Notre Dame. The B1G is wise to wait on the future demise of the ACC. They will not make a move IMO until it is time to divvy up ACC teams with the SEC. If Oregon and Washington do not understand this, they are in trouble administratively. The big fish are not in the north west. They are in the ACC, lead by Notre Dame.

The B1G can always add Stanford and Cal at their leisure after they add from the ACC. Oregon and Washington better figure that out quickly.

I haven't seen it reported that the pro-rata clause is only for the first four P5 additions. Where are you seeing that?

I read somewhere else it is limited to four.

Edit: Fox also has some kind of "hand shake" agreement to do the same...

                            • I can see the anger at Colorado but what was BYU's role in this? Just existing?

                              Lol. What a clown.
