I am a sports fan, demonstrably. Sports writers are mostly stupid, failed jocks; there are also a disproportionate number of BYU alumni and LDS among them.
To an Utah "sports fan" it may look disproportionate given there are twice as many BYU fans than Utah fans...
Maybe unemployment/underemployment is higher among your fellow graduates that contributes to that lower average? i.e, BYU has more alumni in the workforce?

BYU grads have a higher starting salary than every Pac 10 school outside of California, and it's not far off from UCLA. They're also higher than every school in the Big 10 outside of Northwestern, Michigan and Maryland. They're $500 off from Michigan.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I can understand UCLA is at best fighting with Utah and Arizona to be 3rd place in the South every year and behind Stanford and Oregon from the other division. They could slide right into the B8 and only be #2 behind Oklahoma. That could be tempting.
This guy is very rapidly encroaching on Bo Schembechler and Barry Switzer for most hated coach by BYU fans. I don't know, maybe he surpassed them a long time ago. He was probably the worst thing to happen to the tone of the rivalry in recent memory. At least Lavell and McBride and his predecessors were professional about it.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

I loathe Urb but his comments in that article seem pretty innocuous. It looks like he's answering a specific question on the topic and just supporting an in-state school where he played football and his sister works as a provost.
EDIT: Still, though. F*** Urb. I want to make that clear.

Where did he say BYU shouldn't make it? Not even the B12 leadership is misguided enough to only add one team.

LOL. Not a problem... Only SU cares about research and only Donut cares about how you spell it.
