I would bet even in Texas that a HS team typically gets close to zero players drafted on average and maybe a half dozen per year at most play D1 college ball.
Just checked MLB.com. The 2016 draft results are there. You can look it up by state. I didn't see a single HS in Texas have more than one player drafted through the first 27 rounds.Last edited by BlueK; 07-20-2016, 01:18 PM.

My high school had the #1 baseball team for the two years after I graduated. I think only one of those guys made the pros. I don't think they would have beaten BYU.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Minor correction. Baseball has 11.7 scholarships per team.

It was a euphemism.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostToo late.

No. What I actually said is that the Big 12 will never admit BYU. I think it's been obvious they'd like to expand; they just have hated the candidate pool.Originally posted by Maximus View PostSo I thought seattleute said the big 12 is never expanding

LOL... The PAC10 had their chance to pick up BYU and they blew it. They picked Colorado (Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostNo. What I actually said is that the Big 12 will never admit BYU. I think it's been obvious they'd like to expand; they just have hated the candidate pool.

BTW, did you catch Colin Cowherd this morning?
