I dont like Boise and the smurf turf is dumb. the nickname is dumb. And there is probably a reason other football schools aren't jumping on that bandwagon.

Not sure it has been a branding exercise. They are still on the outside looking in and to my knowledge arent really generating revenue from the color of the field. What is the benefit of having an infamous looking field?

I like Boise and I like the blue. It's a differentiator for them. I don't think it looks any more ridiculous than having a checkerboard in the endzones.

It's an identifier. It's part of what Tramel was referring to when he says that people stop to watch Boise when flipping the channel. So yeah it does translate to dollars because it is part of the brand and brand helps drive ratings.

It may just be my hometown bias shining through, but I like it. They put in a natural grass field a couple weeks ago for a soccer match. It just looked wrong.

That said, when BSU wears all blue on the blue, it kind of sucks to watch on TV.
