Because of the dissolution of the big east BYU has something really cool cooking.
Wait a minute...aren't you guys brothers or something? So we really only have one source. Or are you simply each other's sources? That leaves us with zero sources....dammit!
Whatever...I can't wait for something cool to happen.

Somebody is in the know...Originally posted by eldiente View PostBecause of common experiences in support of Prop 8, Norte Dame and BYU are now joined in pursuit of an "alliance of independents". This will include the service academies in a scheduling alliance giving each team 4 games with fellow independents. 4 other "regional" games will be left up to the individual members, and the final 4 games will be scheduled with the super conferences as a " conference exchange"
The exact words I heard were "God's Conference"

I think what the Family Von Clueless is hinting at is that Notre Dame won't be going to the B12. Instead, Notre Dame and BYU will go as a package deal to the B1G, rounding out their expansion to 14 teams.Originally posted by jay santos View PostWhy is everybody acting like Notre Dame to the Big 12 is a good thing.
That leaves just one more spot to grab, us against Louisville (or Cincy, Boise, whatever). I don't love our chances in that scenario.
Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Thanks for clarifying that.Originally posted by eldiente View PostBecause of common experiences in support of Prop 8, Norte Dame and BYU are now joined in pursuit of an "alliance of independents". It might be more believable had you left off that introductory clause.Originally posted by eldiente View PostBecause of common experiences in support of Prop 8, Norte Dame and BYU are now joined in pursuit of an "alliance of independents". Though it does line up with what Chip Brown is saying re: Notre Dame.

LOL! If only LAU knew that his Prop 8 campaigning was really just an effort to prop up BYU athletics...Originally posted by eldiente View PostBecause of common experiences in support of Prop 8, Norte Dame and BYU are now joined in pursuit of an "alliance of independents". Opportunities to play "across" the country rather than being limited to a geographically based conference....... Just like ND and the service academies are not geographically-based, neither is BYU.
The end game from the BOT perspective isn't about BCS access, but rather alignment with those of common interests and exposure to a broader audience.

Clearly you need to take lessons from Chip.....Originally posted by falafel View PostHmm, that doesn't sound that cool to me.
THIS IS REALLY HUGE AND BYU HOLDS ALL THE CARDS IN ITS HAND! THE BIG-12 WILL NOT ONLY GIVE US RE-BROADCAST RIGHTS, 8 TIER 1 GAMES A YEAR AND AN ARMED ESCORT OUT OF MISSOURING BUT THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT THE FIRST 10 BIG-12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES WILL BE A ROTATION OF MICHAEL MCCLAIN, MICHAEL BALLAM (NOW IS THE DAY OF OUR POWER!!!!) AND GLADYS KNIGHT!
THIS WILL PROVE TO THE WORLD THAT WE LOVE POOFTAHS, EVIL AND OTHERS OF ETHNIC MINORIITIES! I THINK WE WILL EVEN INVITE THE UNIVERSITY OF WYO BAND THE SATURDAYS THAT SISTER GLADY SINGS THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!
