I've only seen avatars of prophets from Ute fans, never from BYU fans..coincidence?
No, it's pretty much intentional across the board. For historical reasons, more prophets have been Utah grads than BYU grads. We just like to rub that in, that's all. Any more questions?

If they'll let us go to the Big 12, all 15 of them can show up to General Conference in Utah jerseys for all I care.

In a decade or so when David A. Bednar is President of the Corp. that will change (as he is a byu grad). He will most likely stick around for several decades, or longer, since he is only 59 now.
In the mean time we can rub it in for the next few years anyhow.

Right. We're just playing the hand we've been dealt. We'll worry about future GA smack when the time comes.

Damnit. I hate it when people say things like this because it's impossible to tell if
1. You've gone all zen on us and are just switching off your emotions
2. Same as one, but with chemical / herbal assistance
3. You have some information your masking
4. You've decided to end it all
I'm with you. I'm back to full on doubting Thomas mode. Unless I see a press conference announcing an invite with my own eyes, I will not believe. I envy those that have never wavered (Goat, kccougar, et al) and hope they are right but I do not have the faith.
So there's no room for us unless Missouri bolts and even then it's more likely that Louisville or WV takes the spot.
Why would the Big 12 settling at 10 again? I know the grant of rights gives the league stability that it didn't have last year, but why wouldn't they want to snatch up the most attracticve expansion candidates now instead of waiting for the SEC/Big 10/ACC to take them? That doesn't apply to BYU of course. Everyone knows the Big 12 is our only option.
I don't think it will. Last year was a surprise when you whiny ass Huskers thought having a bunch of drunk Scando's pounding your asses was better than Bevo or Stoops doing the deed. The Big 12 was not ready to expand, but I am pretty convinced when the dust settles there will be 12 teams, perhaps not all will join immediately but there will be 12 identified members. I also predict that BYU will be 1 of the 12!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

This is the mode we all should have been in all along. It would have saved me a bit of stress and a lot of updating in this thread and on twitter.
Here's the latest from local radio per Patrick Kinahan. According to people that PK has spoken to, BYU to the Big XII is not completely dead, but it doesn't look promising.
PK says he is hearing the same things that are posted out of the Tulsa World article (haven't seen this article)??? Negotions with BYU hit some snags. PK isn't aware if the issues that are keeping BYU out, however he hints at a few things that might be issues:
1) Sunday Play
2) Play on conference weekends
3) rebroadcasting games.
Still thinks it's a fluid situation and believes there still is hope, but doesn't feel as positive as he did 24 hours ago.
I've heard something, but I don't know how trustworthy it is. Otherwise, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the rest of the season. If BYU becomes irrelevant, then so be it. There's nothing I can do. I'll go down with the ship, but I don't think it's going down.
Edit: I'm not claiming any insider info. I'm just changing my approach. I was stoked about independence 12 months ago. Nothing has changed that should make me feel worse. Superconferences are still aways off. The team sucks right now, but that will change in the next year or two. Basketball is going to kill it in the WCC. Things are good my Cougar brethren. One things we probably need to understand in independence is that highs will be much higher, but the lows will also be lower. This ride ain't for the faint of heart!

I have a really hard time believing this is any sort of an obstacle. Seriously? I doubt 3 is a big obstacle either. It would be nice, but not a deal breaker. Plus, we already know that ESPN is happy to give us the rebroadcast rights.

If 1 is a problem it's game over and I wouldn't feel bad about missing out for it. There's no way BYU would compromise on that. I would be pretty disappointed if 2 or 3 kept us from joining though.

AFAIK this is an issue because the Big 12 doesn't necessarily want to be tied to ESPN for the new TV deal. At the very least they will want to play Fox, NBC, ESPN, etc. against each other during the negotiations to build up the size of the TV deal.
IIRC Tejas does not own the LHN.
