Doesn't that belong in the Texas Cocaine University thread?

Bird Teeth is sure of March 31st date, that UL will be asked to join Big12 and start 27 month clock so they could join in 2014 in time to be included in new TV rights discusion..Also catching wind of BYU to Big12 as Football only member and ND as member in everything but football.

Yeah, especially when his subtitle on his twitter account says:

                          • It's also possible that the negotiations for the new Big 12 TV contract are contingent on them having 12, and that 2 more invitations will go out closer to the time that the contract is completed. In which case, assuming the "big splash" hire we are supposedly going to make and the stadium we are supposedly going to be building, we'd be in much better shape in terms of saying "see, we really ARE committed to football."

I have to say, I'm one of the bigger "show me" pessimists on here (I blame my midwest upbringing - everyone here's a pessimist)... but I have a funny feeling about this one. Everyone knows that the Big 12 isn't going to stay at 10 for too long, and I just don't see many other more-viable options out there for them, especially if we make the above-mentioned commitments. The world will scoff when it happens, but they'll also look at the guy we hired, the stadium we're building, the recruiting hotbed where we're located, the city where we're located (in terms of desirability for a college kid to spend a few years), and they'll go "you know, they really DO have a lot going for them, as long as they really are committed to trying to win in football..."

Huh? Are you talking about BYU? What position are we "hiring" for? I assume you mean Cecil's replacement but i doubt the hiring will be a big "splash" considering its more a calling than a job.

Also, what stadium are we building? I know we are making additions to LES and possibly the MC, but what are you referring too?

                              • So if adding Louisville will be the Big 12's bridge to WV then who will be the bridge to BYU in the Longhorn Nation?
