Expansion seems highly, highly unlikely. Louisville, Cincinnati and BYU loom outside the Big 12's gates, but the league must be assured that any member that joins won't cause the 10 current members' slices of the financial pie to grow any thinner. TCU's and West Virginia's admittance was about bringing in Top 25 programs with BCS success more than admitting a team with a huge fan base, though the Mountaineers possess both.

Some data points to consider when evaluating "Top 25 programs". Not to mention that BYU's fan base could also be considered "huge".

All I had to do was to look at the title of the link:

The author got one thing correct. BYU > CU. However, I have yet to see any football related metrics where BYU = Nebraska. And that's not a knock on BYU football.

It is so sad to me to see the of all the wonderful redeeming values of Mormon culture the one most frequently maintained by the dissaffected is our well honed persecution complex. I believe there are very legitimate reasons why Republicans wouldn't want Romney, not reasons that resonate with me but reasons nontheless, and legitimate reasons why the Big-12 would not want BYU. On the other hand I also dismiss a great deal of the claims or whining about racism that I hear sp perhaps I really do just lack modern elightenement. I do like the whining about religious discrimination against Mormons because since I am Mormon I am empowered to yell "Bullshit you whining pussy" without being accused of anything but an insensitive and uncultured mysogenist.

Saying that, if you don't believe BYU is going to eventually be in the Big-12 you have something in common with Marylin Chambers! If the cue ball fits it snatch it up WHYOHIO? and FlyGirl!
