Wow, a double handful of posts and your schtick is already tired and overused. At this point I can only assume you're full of it. This is the internet you, not the real you who's just pissed at the Church because he can't abuse himself without guilt.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostI'm not really interested in getting others to think my way. *shrug* I'm not going to be cowed into conformity either. The admins at BYU are so full of themselves and their manifest destiny that its disgusting for a BYU football fan, or should be.
I'm constantly frustrated with the Church/BYU relationship and the insanity it creates but that is no reason to act a fool.

Back to more serious things, such as the destruction of BYU football at the hands of Thomas S Monson

My personal, not updated from anyone opinion is that you are wrong.Originally posted by Viking View PostMy personal, not updated from anyone opinion is that BYU rejected an invite and now finds itself on the outside, looking in, hoping for a 12 team conference and that WVU is SEC-bound."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? It's called the 5 stages of grief. When you lose something that had been of extreme importance to you, you go through those, be it divorce, or death of a loved one, or loss of comforting lies aka religion. Anyway, you have no idea where I, or others, are in our post-religion lives.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostYou could write a book called "Stages of Atheism."

He still thinks that 10 is the right number, which all but confirms that his ouster was the right call.
And Nebraska blamed it all on Texas. One of the first items on the Big 12's agenda after ousting Dan Beebe as commissioner was agreeing to equally share revenue from the conference's major TV rights, a Pac-12 and Big Ten-like deal supplanting one that had rewarded schools based on appearances.
It was a "bittersweet" development for Beebe, who said in a wide-ranging interview with ESPN.com that it was something he attempted two years ago.
But the Nebraska Cornhuskers stood in the way, he said.
"It could have kept all 12 together,'' Beebe said Saturday, nearly three weeks after his contract was bought out by the Big 12 board of directors on Sept. 22. "I proposed it two years ago when Nebraska and Colorado were in the league as we prepared for our television negotiations we did last spring.''
Beebe said none of the Big 12's recent defections had to occur.
"I asked for them to consider it,'' Beebe said of the revenue-sharing pact. "Nebraska was one of the biggest objectors of equal revenue rights, and their president Harvey Perlman said that. We could have done this two years ago and none of this would have happened.''"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Ah yes, the same old lie that those that leave the Mormon church only did so because they couldn't cut it. I've wondered if there might be something to a reformulated Big Least with West and East divisions with BYU, AFA, BSU and maybe CSU and WY. Sounds crazy, but this whole thing is crazy.Originally posted by WashingtonCoug View PostI'm starting to wonder if Holmoe isn't trying to get us into the Big East for football only? St. Cougar, ignore these other posters. I for one welcome your unresolved bitterness to CUF. You have raised many interesting issues and are giving us all something new to think about. I look forward to hearing more about your "post-religion" journey. Because nothing screams "religion is in my rear view mirror" more than a BYU football fan posting on a BYU/Utah message board and referencing the Church in pretty much every single post about conference expansion. You are a veritable St. Thomas Aquinas, enlightening us us all with your philosophies.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostIt's called the 5 stages of grief. You just need to realize that you're not very unique around here except for the fact that you're worried about how people will perceive your atheism. You are addressing atheists and agnostics as if they aren't atheists or agnostics. You're posting as if this is cougarboard.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostAh yes, the same old lie that those that leave the Mormon church only did so because they couldn't cut it. I would recommend reading more and posting less until you have a better handle on this place. At the same time, I am glad to have another nonbeliever around here. That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Hitchens
