Utah is not so different from BYU, afterall.
Utah is different in that they bring fewer eyeballs, fans and fan support to the table -- yet they still picked Utah. They'd bypass BYU again, I guaran-ass-tee it.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

    • Man, Viking, just when I started to get excited about your source...

If BYU was an option for the PAC 12, they would already be IN the PAC 12.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

      • BYU to the PAC 16?

Just announced on College Football Live that OU has had multiple conferences express interest in the school joining them. OU will announce next week whether or not they are leaving the Big 12.

My theory: OU's sick of being seen as Texas' lap dog. They want some attention. They're flexing.

            Nothing to see here.

Second round of pressure to get Notre Dame to jump into the Big12.

If OU leaves Texas just has to cancel their red river shootout and OU goes back to being a has been.

All along I have thought OU was the gem everyone was after in all of this ... I think that was the SEC's plan from the get go. They recruit the no talent older brother (A&M) so they can get the prized younger recruit (Oklahoma).

                    Oklahoma = Jabari Parker.

                    • OU set a deadline of Sept 15th to make a decision. I hope that decision includes a new OU network and not a new conference.

That's the most hopeful view if you are BYU Fan.
                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm telling you, I hear it first and BYU is in the hunt.

Oklahoma is the big prize in all of this, not Notre Dame.

                            • Man...

Nebraska and Colorado break free from Texas and couldn't be happier to do so.

aTm can hardly wait to get away.

Now OU is talking to everyone.

The BYU fans are standing there waving take me, take me,...

Damn boys... don't be surprised if the church says no to this big move.

Give me some sort of reasonable answer why BYU wasn't selected last year and I'll believe.
