This of course is a generalization. I am not talking about the 18-24 year olds who belong to posters on here.

I wonder how all those 18-24 year old members that don't go to BYU manage things without the HC?
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Or how BYU possibly functioned as a university with all those 18-24 year olds in the 85 years before the HC was introduced?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

        • Bob Bowlsby on Hookem.com podcast...

          HIGHLIGHTS:

Process is in no way a "short-term discussion" and also that it doesn't matter how you do in one game (re Oklahoma and Houston). Looking deeper than one game or season

"This isn't just about football". Bowlsby wants to strengthen everything from academics to Olympic sports.. Potential members need to win championships all around, be championship contenders.

League hopes to have the upcoming championship site for football announced in November and wants it to remain there for a few years

Lots of talk about 3rd Tier rights, still talking with ESPN and Fox

          • Note to Big XII:

BYU is currently ranked 7th in women's soccer, 10th in women's volleyball, 13th in men's cross country, and 27th in women's cross country. Anybody listening? These are for just the early fall sports.

Of course, those comments by Bowlsby make it sound like expansion if it is to happen won't happen this fall.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

It seems the Big 12 presidents will have a full agenda to cover for the Oct 17th meeting. I could still see expansion happening for the 2017 season, however. It may cost the expansion schools a pile of money.

As for being competitive in sports besides football are they any other schools that look as good as BYU? The fact that Bob even brings that up seems to say that BYU won't be a football-only school in the Big 12.

              • All these insiders are confusing the hell out of my on who has presented and who hasn't...

Here, according to sources familiar with the process, is where we are in the Big 12 Will Expand/Big 12 Won’t Expand Derby.

Interviews/presentations: They will continue through the end of next week. Of the 11 schools on the interview “list”, UConn, Houston, UCF and USF had made (as of Friday morning) their sales pitches. Remaining: Air Force, BYU, SMU, Rice, Colorado State, Tulane, and Cincinnati.

It is a two-tiered list: Cincinnati, UConn, BYU and UCF are in the first group and have already been vetted by the Big 12. Their presentations were filled with additional details beyond the basics.

The other 7 schools required more of an introduction and have almost no chance of making the final cut unless some major unknown additions are made in their presentations. Most of those schools are being interviewed for political reasons.

                Houston, you have a problem.

                  • This is the coup de grace for BYU. I'm sorry. I tried to warn you.

This bodes well for the women's soccer team. Maybe the final four will be played closer to home now. Hopefully they'll move it to somewhere in Texas. Nice 3-0 drubbing of #7 ranked Ohio State on the road tonight.

Clearly the University of Utah supports BYU policies. They had their chance to forfeit playing BYU but welcomed them anyway. Of course, it was one of the few chances for Utah to get primetime national exposure instead of being one of those late games on the PAC-12 network (that no one, it seems, can find on their cable/sat). They gave into the temptation instead of standing up for gay rights. I'm sorry. I tried to warn you, man. Now we are all in this together.

Actually that's not true. My preference is for BYU to come out of the Middle Ages and thereby qualify for Big 12 admission.
