I'd be fine with that, too. I was simply speculating what the pods would look like if they DID adopt a pod method.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostNo PODS, Pac 8 division and Texas/OU Division. Rose Bowl tie in still conected to the Pac 8 division winner. That sounds bye.
I think the key is that the 4 California schools stay together and that the entire group retains access to Granddaddy. I'm not entirely convinced that the new 4 schools care as much about access to California recruits as Utah and Colorado do. The 4 B12 'fugees already focus on Texas recruiting and have not traditionally recruited in California, so really not much changes for them in that regard. What they get is more money and rock solid stability.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I realize that, but these changes are devastating for us. College football won't be the same and will change for the worse, but the fact is you guys are in and we're not.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostFor me (and I think for most here) it's about much more than that. I really like college football as we know it, and super conferences will radically change it - for everyone, BYU, Utah, you name the school."Remember to double tap"

Just remind yourself that whatever permutation it is we are fortunate to be part of it. Last summer when this was all up in the air we would have all been more than happy to be part of a 16 team PAC if that meant us being included.Originally posted by Scorcho View Postthe PAC-16 with an East/West Division would be miserable for Utah, but everyone seems to think that the POD system will be implemented so that you would play 2 schools from the Northwest, 2 schools from California, 2 schools from Texas & OK and the other schools in your POD.
I'd prefer the PAC-12, but a PAC-16 with that set up isn't awful.
I think this thing is going to happen, there will be 4 super conferences and then there will be a new mega conference comprised of the leftovers. That conference will then begin arguing (maybe with merit) that they aren't any worse than the ACC and should be included. The more things change...Last edited by UtahDan; 09-19-2011, 09:59 AM.

I didn't know it was possible for me to agree with SU 36 hours after the rivalry game, but here I am. I have a hard time seeing Texas agree to equal revenue sharing with Wazzou and Beavs, as well as agreeing to play conference games in those locales every few years.
Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I'm not convinced.

It is Arizona and ASU that are going to get bent over in this deal, IMO. None of the new teams can really gripe about scheduling, but I would think those two teams would have something to say about not getting to play most of their old conference mates every year.Originally posted by Scorcho View PostI honestly don't know, it sounds like a cluster****, and you wouldn't play everyone in your own division.

A rumor on an Oregon board is that you would play the 3 teams in your POD then 2 from each of the other PODS (I'm not sure why PODS is all caps). Then the two teams with the best records would play in the champ game.Originally posted by Surfah View PostIf the old Pac 8 aligns and Utah is thrust into the east, that would suck.
How do conference champs get determined in the pod system?
In theory you could end up with Utah/Colorado or a different rivalry game playing the last week of the season then the following week for the champ game then.Get confident, stupid
