Yeah, that's why people posting links to twitter writers is amazing; it is pretty obvious that the people in charge don't know very much so how would some local reporter from Orlando know about the situation?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Like fine wine these Pac 12-2 media deals get better with time...
I wonder if GK sells used cars on the weekend.

Colorado (and Coach Prime Time) is the new anchor team of the Pac 12-2 (replacing USC)...

If the new deal doesn’t measure up, Colorado and others could consider a jump to greener pastures.

Football coaches come and go and are not typically a factor when negotiating a media rights contract. But Colorado is a different case this year after hiring “Coach Prime” Deion Sanders in December. Fox has already selected Colorado’s first two games to air in its coveted “Big Noon” time slots Sept. 2 and 9 at TCU and at home against Nebraska.
“Our ratings are going to be up this year because of Coach Prime,” Kliavkoff said. “He’s great for the league. He’s great for Colorado. You can see from where the team was last year to where they are this year.”

Man, it is going to be great having Coach Prime and Colorado back in the Big 12.

They should wait until next June to close a deal. Just imagine how great the offers will be then!Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostLike fine wine these Pac 12-2 media deals get better with time...

Kind of funny that Colorado waited until after the deadline to submit notice to the MWC. SDSU now will have to wait two years or pay a much larger exit fee."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. So when does this thread get re-named to "The Pac 10 contraction groundswell"?

It's too bad that all the excitement is taking place during deposition season. I'd love to get SU's take on CU to the Big 12. I'm guessing we won't see him for a few weeks.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post
You are groveling in ant shit. And believing what you want to believe, as is your wont.
Looks like the Big 12 deal's present value is $30 million a year per team, at most. Six year term. Assuming worst case scenario for the Pac 12, what's the delta between what it will get and the Big 12? 10%? 20%? It doesnt' matter. But probably not near that. Like AJ says, the present is just stop gap, everything is fluid. The Pac 12 teams are not thinking about a million or two more this year or next. That's nothing. They're interested in the benefit to their brands of being associated with west coast elites or (as far as the west coast elites are concerned, with one another), they are posturing for further consolidation (as to which Big 12 membership would provide no advantage), and they are factoring in the expanded tournament and the best way to access it.
If things are as dire for the Pac 12 as the desperate Big 12 loyalists propagandize (Conzano has a column today that says it's more disinformation), it should really be obvious that no Pac 12 team would be interested in the Big 12 even if our country were hit by an atom bomb and the B1 and SEC were vaporaized. I know it hurts to not be wanted, but face the facts. Jeez. It should be plain as the nose on your face that whatever is the best deal the Pac can make, its teams are simply not interested in joining S-Town, er, I mean the Big 12."Seriously, is there a bigger high on the whole face of the earth than eating a salad?"--SeattleUte

They all think like SU. It's hilarious that they think a decade of being in an athletic conference with Stanford stopped them from being an open enrollment commuter school. ASU has been with them for 45 years, WSU and OSU for much longer and look at them.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
