Would love them. Also, let's get the UCSB Gauchos a DI pigskin team.

I love it! A west coast ivy league that nobody watches or cares about.

Getting Tulane, ucsb, and cal tech would strengthen our grip on our reign as the conference with the best destinations.

        rice, not so much.

        • It seems everyone is talking about the 20% linear (ESPN Pac 12-2 at Night) and 80% streaming split for the new media deal...

So when is the Big 12 going to announce it's adding some more schools?

Pretty good food in Albequerque. And UNM is an R1 school.
You could add Colorado State when Colorado leaves. Decent research school.
Logan is a great college town. Don't sleep on Utah State.

I'm not criticizing at all, but this is starting to look like a poor man's Ivy League. If I'm the Four Corners schools, I don't think I'm at all in favor of this move, as it's essentially a capitulation from an athletics perspective. UofA, ASU, UofU and CU are all great schools in their own right, but I'm not sure how the overall student experience benefits from being in this sort of a conference.

I read that UNLV was a possibility for the Pac 12-2 as well. Don't forget that Commish George Kliavkoff worked as the President of MGM sports and entertainment before taking the Pac 12 job so he is sure to have friends in Vegas. And the Pac could save some money having the championship game over at Sam Boyd Stadium. I am sure that UNLV has some academics of some sort so check that box.

                      UNLV! Another great road trip.

                      Let's see here:

                      Tulane
                      Rice
                      UCSB
                      Caltech
                      Colorado State
                      New Mexico
                      UNLV
                      SMU
                      SDSU

Colorado and the two AZ schools likely to leave to the B12.
UW, OU likely to the B1G. Maybe Stanford.
Stanford, Cal could go independent if they don't get the B1G invite.
Therefore, Utah, Oregon State, and Washington state could add the 9 schools above and be right back at 12. Swap in Cal somewhere because they probably don't have the chops to go indy.

I love how this is shaping up.

Yuck! Logan? It's no Ames, Iowa, but not a place I look forward to when I travel.

BTW, I'm going to the Baylor game this year and the top attractions in Waco include something called Magnolia which is the site of a home design show () and the Dr Pepper museum ()

                          Yeah, Waco is a dud.

Pro tip: stay in Austin and drive up I-35 to Waco for the game. Austin is awesome.

I mean, fair. But also solidifies the reign as the conference of nice destinations where people don't go to football games.
