I understand the excitement about Sampson being an athleticism upgrade, but doesn't BYU really expect its safeties to really understand the complex zone coverage schemes for everyone on the field? I have my concerns that he will be able to master it all to be the starter come the trip to sticky sweet habitat of Oxford.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostSampson is expected to come in and start from Day 1.
Matthews I think is as good or better than Braden Hansen was as a freshman so we may see him play early as well. I think he is the successor to Matt Reynolds at Left Tackle.
On the other hand, I don't see any real competition for the position. Perhaps Galai? Isn't he heading to spend the summer with that superstar speed and strength coach down in Arizona. The physical component turned out real well for the last Kahuka stud who went to hang out with him.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

It is because he is such an incredible athlete. You kind of wonder if he could develop into a Mario Williams type D End with his height and athleticism. If Bronson were to be a D End, I would want him to be in a 4-3 though and let him come off the edge.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostBronson is an NFL left tackle. But I still like the intrigue of him playing D-end."Take it to the Bank"

Which is a big reason why I think he's slated to play LT. The way BYU runs their 3-4, you are almost better off having 3 DT type players chewing up blocks.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostIt is because he is such an incredible athlete. I don't know. Who is BYU still recruiting other than Langi? That DE out or Portland maybe?
I think it is Collie the 3rd, as the announcement will coincide with Anae being re-assigned.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

He has a huge frame. Bronson of all people may need a redshirt when he gets him to put the weight on and build the some strength but he could carry 315 pounds well.Originally posted by camleish View Postbronson was listed at 240 (closer to 225-230) before he left, from what i hear. he's going to have to put on a lot of weight to be even close to a traditional byu lineman."Take it to the Bank"
