Well first of all Byron Marshall and Devonte' Neal are not coming to BYU. But besides that the class looks a bit better.

Hinds is the states top recruit and BYU and Utah will battle hard for him.

Mangum will be a decent recruit.

We already have commits from Weeks, Hadley and Sandlin all will be 3 stars or higher.

Biegel has some nice offers too.. Seems like he would be a nice get too. Where are Mangum and Hinds leaning right now?

Doesn't look terribly exciting. That Neal kid isn't LDS, right? I can't imagine he really even consider coming here. What about the kid at the top? Is he a Mo? Outside of those two the only big prospect is Hinds. We'll see what happens with him -- no one seems to know either way.

        • My next door neighbor's kid just turned 12 (to the surprise of many who assumed he was at least 16 and already fielding scholarship offers.) He's 6'0'' 185 at age 12. His dad isn't into sports so I've taken it upon myself to steer the course of his life. I can't wait for LOI day 2017!!!

          • I was wondering if that Heder kid was related to Napoleon. Just read that peeps are saying it's his younger brother.

Lost opportunity, I sat next to the dad on a flight two weeks ago. The dad played DE at BYU in mid sixties. Played with Virgil Carter and all the Marines. He joined the LDS Church while at the BYU.

Look at their class this way.

                1. Adam Hine- 4 star RB
                2. Brock stringham- 3 star OL (A former DE said he will be the best lineman in the program before long)
                3. Jordan Smith- 3 star WR (ran a 4.45 before leaving on his mission, 6'4)
                4. Michael Yeck- 2 star OL
                5. Kevan Bills- 2 star DE
                6. Cameron Comer- 3 star CB (6'1 200 pounds, Brandon Bradley size)
                7. Solomone Kafu- 2 star DT (switched to OL)

This does not include Pritchard, Alisa, Hadley, Sorenson, etc. that have already played a year and proven their worth.

                8. Aulelio Olomua- 3 star DE/TE (6'5 235)
                9. Brian Rawlinson- 2 star OL (6'5 285)
                10. Matt Sumsion- 2 star Athlete (TE/DE, 6'8 220)
                11. Preston Hadley- 2 star CB (good size 6'1 200)
                12. Joe Sampson- 3 star DB (6'0 200)
                13. Ryker Matthews- 3 star OL (6'6 285, US ARmy game invite)
                14. Corbin Kaufuis- 2 star TE/DE (6'6 265 another athlete type)
                15. Adam Pulshiper- 3 star LB (6'2 235 with a lazer timed 4.65 40)
                16. Colby Jorgensen- 3 star TE (6'7 215, once again can play multiple positions)
                17. Lene Lesatele- 3 star DE (6'3 245)
                18. Stehly Reden- 2 star DE (6'6 245)
                19. Kesni Tausinga- 3 star DT (6'1 279)
                20. Uili Laupaho- 3 star OL (6'7 285)
                21. Manoa Pikula- 3 star FB (6'1 230)
                22. Austin Heder- 2 star LB (6'2 230)
                23. Baker Pritchard- 3 star LB (6'3 230)

That is pretty solid class in my opinion. Also tons of flexibility all of these kids can play multiple positions especially all the recruits that are 6'5+ and 220-250 pounds you can play them at OLB, DE, OT, TE and WR gives BYU a ton of flexibility at plugging holes.
Good information. To be consistent though, delete the kids from this class who have put us on notice they are going on missions so we don't double count them when they come back.

Anyone with info wanna give me the skinny on this kid? (He's 21 on CJ's list but not in our hearts) The only thing I've heard about him is that he's in the Tonga/Vakapuna mold. Will he play early, often, or at all?

I would vote excited as it indicates that the coaches must be really high on Alani Fua. They were really high on Alisa in 08, so to decide this soon to move him says more about BYU's future at OLB than it does at RB. I also think Pritchard will be a FT FB.

I've read that the coaches don't consider him anything other than a LB'er. Not sure if that's true, but if so, I can't imagine he'll be playing early given how we look at that position.

So Napoleon's dad was a DE and his brother a stud LBer? What the hell happened to him?

                              • At the recruiting luncheon they said Michael Alisa will play running back and not linebacker.

I found that interesting as he was a good LB as a freshman.

Also I was looking at some stats. Daniel Sorenson had 17 tackles, 3.5 Tfs, 1 sack and 1 int in spot duty as a freshman.
