Nice preview of this Sunday's Nike Camp
There is no event on the Southern California camp circuit that is more eagerly awaited than the Nike Camp at USC. The stars have made it a point to come out to this event in the past and this Sunday promises to be no different. Let’s take a look at the prospects that are scheduled for the event by position.
Quarterback
What promised to a slow year at the quarterback position has developed nicely into a position that has to be watched on Sunday. The clear star of this group is Cody Kessler (6-1, 205 Centennial-Bakersfield). This pro-style quarterback has been the rage of scouts in California this winter and just got a big-time offer from Florida. Sources have told us that he is very high on USC’s recruiting board. Connor Preston has a nice combination of good arm-speed and excellent decision making. There is no doubt that he has been surrounded by talent, but he has used it quite effectively according to area scouts. Hawaii is not one of the places that you would go to find a quality QB, but that is not the case with Trenton McKinney (6-0, 182, Wahiawa, HI) and Marcus Maroita (6-4, 180, St. Louis HS, HI). Both are considered the top QB in the state of Hawaii and (according to area scouts) have huge upside despite their size. McKinney sports an offer from Washington State, Maroita reports an offer from Memphis. Derrick Brown (6-3, 220, Vista Murrieta) could be the single most intriguing prospect at the position. Our scouting service thinks this kid will thrive in the “Wildcat” offense in college. He reports an offer from San Diego State.
Other player to watch include
Aaron Cantu (6-1, 185, Montebello Schurr) Jake Geringer (6-2, 185, Newbury Park) Chad Jefferies (6-1, 190, Glendora) Travis Champion (6-1, 195, Rancho Verde) Tyler Damore (6-2, 185, Ironwood Ridge HS, Az) Michael Eubanks (6-5,230, Corona Centennial) Daniel Kessler (6-4, 220, Claremont) Michael Bercovici (6-3, 200, Taft)
Offensive line
As is usually the case, the Nike Camp is a launching pad for offensive lineman that have flourished in high school weight room’s throughout Southern California during the winter. This year is no different. The hottest offensive lineman on the recruiting trail is offensive tackle Issac Luatua (6-2, 290). He just got an offer from UCLA and with his body-type and wingspan, he clearly projects to being offensive guard at the next level. He’s not the only lineman from the school that is getting attention in recruiting circles. Area scouts are also very high on Bryan Peters (6-5, 305, La Mirada), who projects to being a guard in college. He current sports six offers that include Colorado State and Fresno State. Sioasi Aiono (6-3, 290, South Hills) was the talk of the Under Armour camp several weeks ago and has been graded very highly by D-1 offensive line coaches. Our service rates him as the top-ranked player in the San Gabriel Valley. He holds offers from BYU and San Jose St. Tyler Johnston (6-5, 250, Hamilton HS, Az.) is considered one of the top offensive lineman in Arizona. According to one Pac-10 coach, Johnston could very well end up being the top OL in the state if he has a great 2010 season. He reports an offer from Colorado. Narbonne has become one of the more popular schools for college coaches to visit and this year they have one of the top offensive lineman in the South Bay in Dontae Livingston (6-3, 266, Narbonne). This is another kid that scouts call a “phone booth” kid. That means he’ll be a guard or center at the next level. His best offer coming into Sunday is from Oregon. Our scouting service has a very high grade on offensive tackle Jordon Smith (6-5, 250, Redlands). This is a classic offensive tackle that is physical at the point of attack. He just received his first offer from San Diego State this past week.
Other players to watch include
Patrick Carroll (OLT, 6-5, 270, St. Francis - La Canada) John Archuleta (OL, 6-4, 262, Henderson, NV) Carl Hulick (OL, 6-3, 255, Esperanza) Christan Piccard (OL, 6-3, 270, Orange Lutheran) Marcus Martin (OL, 6-5, 330, Crenshaw) John Wolfe (OL, 6-2, 285, San Barlow, OR)
Running Back
If there was a group that was the talk of the Nike Camp last year it was this position group. It’s only natural that there would be a drop off this year, but there is still enough talent to make this one of the strong position groups to watch on Sunday. The headliner of this group is De’Anthony Thomas (5-9, 160, Crenshaw). All you have to do is watch the first half of the CIF-State championship game against De La Salle to see that this kid is for real. He is the best player in Southern California in 2010. Area scouts are concerned about his physical body type, but he has speed to burn. He just recently an electronic 10.6 100m at the Arcadia Invitational. He has offers from both USC and UCLA. Will Gregory (6-1, 185, Dominguez-Compton) has the power and football speed to become a force at the next level. Area scouts love his downhill running style and so are Washington and Arizona State. Those are the two schools that have offered him. Harvey Langi (6-1, 215, South Jordan, UT) is considered the top RB in the state of Utah. Very well built and speed to become a playmaker, it’s easy to make a case for him as one of the top prospects on the west coast. Among the offers he reports is BYU, Colorado and UCLA. Another RB from the state has that has caught the eye of RB coaches is Bryson McKenzie (5-10, 225, Provo, UT). He also has an offer from BYU. The state of Nevada is always good for one top-notch RB every year and the kid that has attracted the most attention is Brandon Wright (6-0, 175, Palo Verde HS, NV). More of an outside the edge type of runner, he has offers from Colorado and UNLV. Tavior Mowry (5-8, 180, Westlake) is also another kid that has caught the eye of Ventura County scouts. He just received his first offer several weeks ago from the Air Force.
Other players to watch include
Todd Handley (5-8, 155, ML King HS - Riverside) Superiorr Reid (6-3, 215, Arlington) Rasheed Johnson (5-11, 190, Crespi) Jonathan Mathews (5-10, 175, Aurora, CO) Jaheel Pinner (6-0, 225, Mission Viejo)
Wide Receiver
If there was a more intriguing position group to watch on Sunday, this is the group. Several players have offers and others can be in position for one with huge performances at the camp. The best WR that have graded by our scouting service is Victor Blackwell (6-1, 185, Mater Dei). This kid has it all. Legitimate speed, size and unbelievable route running ability. Has sports more offers than rides at Magic Mountain. Among the suitors are Tennessee, So. Carolina, Cal, UCLA and Washington. Antoine Arnold (6-4, 165, Chaparral HS, CA) is our service’s top-ranked player in the Inland Empire. To say that he’s athletic is quite an understatement. He caught the ye of Pete Carroll at USC’s one-day camp last year and is on top of a lot of recruiting boards. Insiders have concerns about his academics, but as one observer said recently, “If Vontaze Burfict can make it, so can this guy.” He reports offers from Cal, Washington and Fresno State. Devin Lucien (6-0, 178, Crespi) is one of the best route runners that we have seen in quite a long-time. One San Fernando area scout thinks he could be the top athlete in the area when the 2010 season comes to a close. He currently has offers from Illinois, Colorado and Tulsa. Palmdale HS was a favorite spot for area recruiting coaches thanks to the exploits of safety Joshua Shaw. This year, they’ll be back to evaluate David Richards (6-3, 200, Palmdale). This All-CIF prospect projects to being an outside WR at the next level, but his hand-eye coordination skills are very impressive.
Other players to watch include
Dwayne Brown (5-8, 150, Kaiser)
Alex Jackson (5-10, 170, Culver City)
Brandon Lopez (5-10, 155, Las Vegas, NV) Earnest Pittway (6-4, 231, Long Beach Poly Larry Scott (6-0, 160, Corona Centennial)
Tight Ends
With teams utilizing their TE’s as H-Backs, the position has taken a dramatic change in evaluation. Colleges are now looking for Taller, slender body TE’s that can play in space. There are three players that fit the mold that will be on display during the camp on Sunday. Todd Barr (6-3, 226, Lakewood) is considered the best TE on the west coast. Area scouts liken him to current New York Jets TE Dustin Keller. He has offers from every Pac-10 school except USC. Junior Pomee (6-4, 220, Rancho Verde) is ranked as the fourth best prospect in the Inland Empire by our scouting service. He shows tremendous balance and great hand-eye ball skills. He was the talk of the Nike Camp last year. He just recently got an offer from his “dream” school….UCLA. Dillon Van der Wal (6-6, 230, Oaks Christian) is the tallest TE that will be on display at the camp Sunday. He film is very impressive and scouts think his ability translate well into college. He reports offers from Minnesota and Baylor.
Defensive Tackle
Depth is the key word for this group. It has come up very big this year and colleges don’t have to work very hard to find a nice defensive tackle. The leader of this group easily is Antwaun Woods (6-0, 268, Taft). He impressed at USC’s Rising Stars Camp and his game film is unbelievable. He is the only prospect for this class of 2011 that has given a verbal commitment to USC. Ma-Autua Brown (6-5, 295, Paramount) was one the players that made a strong impression at the USC Rising Stars Camp last year on the offensive side of the ball. But few expected him to dominate in the other side of the ball and is considered one of the top DL in Southern California. He just recently committed to Washington. Christian Heyward(6-2, 260 Point Loma HS, SD, CA), according to scouts in San Diego, just has the look of a classic “1-tech” defensive tackle. But he has been on record as saying that he wants to play DE. He has been offered by everyone in the Pac-10 except USC. Another classic “1-tech” defensive tackle is Arizona standout Mo Latu (6-2, 300, Gilbert HS, AZ). He reports offers from Arizona State and Colorado. DT Matthew Ramondo (6-4, 270, Las Cruses, NM) is considered the top high-school prospect in the state of New Mexico. He has that look of a nice 3-technique defensive tackle. He has offers from New Mexico and New Mexico State. If you are looking for the best defensive player out of the state of Utah, you’ll hear the name of Jordan Robles (6-4, 230,Spanish Fork, UT) a lot. A three-technique defensive tackle, he is a solid verbal commit to Utah. Orange County scouts are raving about J.B. Salem 6-4, 245, Newport Harbor). This Stanford commit can either play a three-technique defensive tackle or a five-technique defensive end. Jeff Worthy (6-3, 290 Whittier Christian) comes from a school that is not usually on the recruiting map, but he just got offered by SMU and could have more offers with a big performance on Sunday.
Other players to watch include
Peter Nonu (6-0, 290, South Hills)
Lavonte Barnett (6-2, 209, Paraclete)
Steve Dillon (6-4, 245, Palmdale)
Devaughn Hanley (6-2, 240, Gahr)
Defensive End
With colleges now using the 3-4 defensive scheme more than ever these days, the DE position has taken a shift in evaluations. That’s not to say that 4-3 DE’s are not in hot commodity. The best pure “DE” is Greg Townsend Jr. (6-4, 240, Beverly Hills) His speed coming off the edge, along with his size, makes him a top-priority for any Pac-10 school that is recruiting him. Both USC and UCLA have offered him. Devante Wilson (6-3, 220, Corona) is the fifth best player in the Inland Empire ranked on by our service. His main attributes are his size and his tackling abilities. We would love to see him have a better motor. He reminds a lot of USC signee George Uko (great when the motor is turned on, but he will take plays off). He has offers from Colorado and Arizona. Charles Burks (6-0, 225 Huntington Beach Edison HS) caught the eye of every OC scout during the 2009 season and played well in the Pac-5 championship game against Servite. He is a verbal commit to Stanford. Reggie Coates (6-0, 225, Crespi) is another player that can play in space and is a perfect fit for a team that employs a 3-4 scheme. His highlight tape is as good as any of the player at the position. He has offers from Iowa State and Nevada Reno. A hamstring injury may prevent him from participating in the drills Sunday Jason Gibson (6-3, 210, Serra) maybe the best player in the South Bay area of Southern California. His highlight tape is very sharp and has physically made a huge improvements since last season. Another player that has been offered by everyone in the Pac-10 except USC. Cody Kurz (6-3, 245, St. Bonaventure) is another “hybrid” outside linebacker/defensive end that plays really well in space. He also shows great physicality at the point of attack. And, as typical of the St. Bonaventure players, he shows great discipline on game tape. He has an offer from Colorado. It’s not everyday that players from Salesian High School in Los Angeles get on the recruiting map. However, there’s not many players that have a motor like Devon Moreland (6-3, 225, Salesian). He shows a relentless motor and is a prospect to watch on Sunday. He recently just got an offer from UCLA. Baker Pritchard (6-3, 250, South Jordan, UT) is another BYU commit that scouts in the state of Utah couldn’t stop talking about. They feel that he’ll be a tremendous player when he gets to Provo. Corey Waller (6-1, 195, Long Beach Poly) was considered my some scouts to being the best defensive player on Long Beach Poly’s team last year. An All-CIF selection, he has offers from Idaho and Washington.

Linebacker
It ‘s a good year for linebackers. Most colleges are looking for linebackers that can play in space. The first player that comes to mind in the Southern California area Rahim Cassell(6-0, 215, Lakewood). His pursuit to the ball is relentless and tackles extremely well. He is considered the best LB in Southern California. His offers include Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington. Jalen Jefferson (6-3, 195, St. Bonaventure) is projected by Ventura County scouts has being an in-the-box safety in a 3-4 defense. But his athletism just off the screen on his tape. His offers are from Arizona State, Washington and Washington State. Trey Madden (6-1, 220, Mission Viejo) is considered by many to being the best linebacker in Orange County and many (which include ESPN Rise’s Greg Biggins) can’t believe that he has only one offer from Washington. Emil Smith (6-2, 200, Rancho Verde) is gaining momentum in the Inland Empire for being a faster and physical player. Our service rankings him as a second-tier LB and he does claim an offer from San Diego St. Adam Pulsipher (6-2, 202, Temecula Valley) comes from good family pedigree and is picking up some momentum. Our service has him as a third-tier LB and has reports an offer from Buffalo.
Other players to watch include
Cleavon Barnes (5-10, 220, Lancaster)
Kris Bass (5-11, 200, San Pedro)
Ethan Cooper (6-1, 195, Phoenix, AZ)
Chad Foster (5-10, 220, San Clemente)
Woodson Greer (6-2, 215, Serra)
Isaac Leon (5-11, 200 Albuquerque, NM)
Zach Relyea (6-1, 215, A.B. Miller)
Greg Sherwood (6-0, 200, Los Osos)
Jamal Wilson (5-11, 210, A.B. Miller)
Defensive Backs
As is usually the case, the battles between the WR and this position group should be very hotly contested. And this decent talent for the DB’s to hold their own on Sunday. The most talent player in the group is Chino Hills safety Ifo Ekpre-Olmou (5-9, 175, Chino Hills). One Pac-10 coach told us recently that this player “has the chance to be the best DB on the West Coast. He’s really good.” A two-time first-team All-CIF selection, Ekpre-Olmou offers have reached double-digits with the best offers being Oregon and Stanford. Long Beach Poly has had a tremendous tradition of great DB’s and the latest one to catch the eye of college coaches is lock-down corner Kameron Jackson (5-10, 160, Long Beach Poly). He just recently gave a verbal commitment to Washington. San Diego area scouts are in love with Stefan McClure (5-10, 170, Vista, CA). One scout says that he “plays really big for his size. This kid is about has good as it gets for this area,” He is another prospect has reported offers that have reached double digits. Among those that have offered include UCLA, Boise St, Colorado and Washington. Aaron Almond (5-11, 190, Diamond Ranch) has had a lot of attention drawn to him since he was a freshman that made a huge impression at UCLA’s one-day camp. More a strong-safety type of prospect, he just received his first offer from San Diego State. Max Gama (6-1, 190, La Mirada) has the look of a quality cover-three zone corner. He just recently committed to Washington State. San Diego State is also in the running for useful CB Mike Sparling (6-1, 165, La Habra) . A big showing on Sunday will improve his stock.
Other players to watch include
Dennis Rufus (6-1, 185, Charter Oak)
Desman Carter (6-1, 175 Kaiser)
Tony Bell (5-10, 180, Locke)
Malcolm Creer (5-11, 185, Palisades)
Brian Fafita (5-10, 175, Oaks Christian) Danell Miles (6-0, 185, Goodyear, AZ) Isreal Musgray (5-11, 185, Arroyo Valley)Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Seeing Taylor Mays show off his USC sense of entitlement was pretty fun this weekend. I wonder how Lane can spin that in recruiting. "Okay so we are a mid-level P10 team, but at least you know Pete Carroll wants to be far removed from any connection to the program!"
The next few years are going to be rough for Souther Cal, sorry DDD. Just being honest.Get confident, stupid

Max Wittek,4-star QB, commits to SC over the weekend. Looks like SC is establishing some sort of Mater Dei QB pipeline. With Scroggins and Wittek and a young Barkley, SC has a decent future at the QB position. Also, it is clear that SC is not interested in developing a spread option attack, as all these kids are passing QBs. Scroggins has shown mobility but is definitely a pass-first guy.

Write up about the Nike Camp at SC this past Sunday. Looks like Langi did wind up getting lots of buzz. Note the comments in the write up. Apparently he is sold on BYU.
Every year the best on the west coast come to USC for the Nike Camp at USC and this year was no exception. Here is what we saw on Sunday….
Quarterbacks
Chad Jefferies (Glendora) has been a prospect that has been highly touted since his sophomore year. On Sunday, all he did was improve his stock and earned himself QB MVP honors for the camp. He also earned the right to be called the best QB for the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire combined by our service. He made all the throws and showed excellent footwork. What will be a concern for college QB coaches is the fact he has inconsistent game film. If you watch the West Covina game, he doesn’t catch the eye. But when you watch the Chino Hills tape, he shows the potential that was on display Sunday. There was a reason he was voted first team All-CIF.
The talk amongst scouts was Taft QB Michael Bercovici. He showed that he can make all the throws and displayed excellent footwork throughout the day. Some scouts were a bit surprised that he was not voted MVP for the day. One major problem for Bercovici coming into the spring is that he has no game-film from his junior year. He becomes a big-time senior evaluation kid.
Another QB that caught our eye was Newbury Park QB Jake Gerginer. He definitely passes the eye-ball test in two seconds and looked good throwing the ball throughout the afternoon. Obne 2012 prospect that we will keep our eyes on is San Clemente QB Travis Wilson. A bit raw, he looked good in the heights and weights portion of the camp and made our class of 2012 list.
Running Backs
One could not be more impressed with Bingham HS, Utah prospect Harvey Langi. He cut an imposing presence in the heights and weights area and looks to be the most college ready RB at the camp. He has offers from everywhere on the west coast except USC. Rumors have it that he favors BYU and if that is the case, this will help make the Cougs one of the better teams to following years to come.
Todd Handley (Riverside King) is our service’s top ranked running back and he had a weekend to remember. He tore it up at the Nike Combine the day before – vertical jumping 40 inches and running a mid 4.5 electronic 40 – and looked just fine all day on Sunday. He is a kid that has no offers, but we expect that he change in the spring. We love him!
Scouts were a little turned off with Avondale, AZ prospect D.J. Hubbard. The main concern was his attitude throughout the camp and his lack of discipline during the drills. He’ll have to make a favorable impression during his spring practices to get that label off of him.
Wide Receiver
This was by far the best of the offensive groups for the day. Victor Blackwell (Mater Dei) had a good day but not a great day. He could have looked a bit more sharper in his routes. One observer mentioned that this kid may not thrive in a short and shirt camp environment and thrives on Friday night. And that is where you earn your scholarships, not at camps, but on game film.
The other receiver that received high grades from scouts in Cathedral WR Joel Porchia. Unlike some of the others prospects that we liked, he does show great in-line speed in his routes and created separation very easily. He was clearly the fastest WR on display at the camp.
Devin Lucien (Crespi) displayed his excellent route running abilities and it seemed like he didn’t drop a ball all day. Scouts are concerned about his in-line speed, but if schools are looking for a pure position receiver, this is their guy. He sports two offers entering the spring evaluation period.
Along those same lines, Jermond Hazely earned the right to be labeled the best wide receiver in the SGV and the IE with our service with his performance on Sunday. He was another WR that ran terrific routes and displayed good hands. He’ll be a good one and look for him to have a solid senior season.
Right off his heels is Corona HS WR Blake Robertson and Tanner Henry. Both ran very well and displayed good route running abilities. Both could also use an extra day in the weight room and that will hurt them just a bit when college coaches see them this month. But, they have potential and it was on display on Sunday.
We don’t know what to make of Oaks Christian TE prospect Dillon van der Wal. He didn’t look fast enough to be a tight end and scouts were divided in thinking this prospect could be a productive DE. Scouts had more questions that answers with the prospect when the camp was done.
Offensive Line
It appears that is a top-heavy position for college’s to evaluate. There are several players that looked good on Sunday, but the major of them were just OK. South Hills Offensive Tackle Sioasi Aiono has been ranked as the best offensive lineman by our service for the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire and his performance on Sunday did little to change that. All the offensive line coaches at the camp gave him high grades, thus earning him the title as camp MVP. He’ll be a guard at the next level and his recruiting will be just fine.
Crenshaw’s Marcus Martin was another kid that looked really good on Sunday. He excelled in the one on one drills and displayed overall good talent throughout the day. He has several Pac-10 schools that are looking at him closely and his performance on Sunday will make them look further.
One prospect that I will really enjoyed watching was Gresham, OR OL prospect John Wolfe. He battled in all the drills all afternoon and got a little tired at the end of the day, but that was because he was the one kid that seemed to be in every rep during the 1-on-1 period. I hoping this kid gets offer sometime soon.
Taylor Reich from Westview HS was another kid that caught our eye. One thing about him that we noticed was the came into camp really in-shape. Showed up well on all drills, he looked to be a nice D-1 FCS offer prospect. John Archuleta (Green Valley HS, NV) also looked good in the heights and weights area and made a favorable impression with scouts at the end of the day.
Orange County is going to be a nice place to find offensive lineman for the class of 2012 and among the players that caught our eye included Esperanza’s Carl Hulick and Mission Viejo’s Chance McCall. Inland Empire 2012 prospect Isaiah Folasa from Corona Santiago HS is the early leader to being the best offensive lineman for the area for the class 2012.
Defensive Line
Antuwan Woods (Taft) showed why he is best DT prospect on the west coast. What makes him him good is that he brings the best out of the offensive lineman too. Guys like Aiono and Martin more than held their own against Woods and its shows that when you get the best against the best, all parties benefit.
Jason Gibson led a bunch of players from Serra HS in making a huge impression with everyone at the camp. It just seemed like all the Serra players came in shape ready for action on Sunday. Gibson has the perfect body that you are looking for at DE and looked awesome all day in drills. He’ll be fine.
Beverly Hills DE Greg Townsend Jr. looked really good in phases of the drills on Sunday. He is a bit tight in the hips, but make no mistake about it, he is a football player.
Charles Burks (Edison) has a motor that college coaches love to see. He has a great get-off and looked really good in all the drills. There are many scouts (and I’m not one of them) that think his size will be to his determent in college. As a third down pass-rushing specialist, he’ll do just fine.
One of the prospects that had big questions on him heading into the day was Whittier Christian defensive lineman Jeff Worthy. At the end of the day, you can see why he got an offer from SMU recently. He looked in shape and displayed good moves in the position drills all day. His recruiting will take off during the spring.
One shouldn’t take a look at Mission Viejo defensive tackle Michael Melguin on the hoof and say that he can’t play football. That was the initial thought of scouts when he arrived in the heights and weights area. But, when the lights were turned on, he did a great job in the drills from the first minute to the last. Like the kid a lot.
Another kid that is in the same boat is DT 3-tech prospect Kyle Zottneck of Los Alamitos HS. Again, he’ll do nothing on the hoof, but he battled all afternoon and caught the eye of scouts at the end of the day. Look for HC John Barnes to put in a good word for the kid with scouts.
Palmdale DL Steve Dillon was one of the more impressive players physically and technique wise throughout the day. One of the things that we noticed right away was that he had thin ankles. And when you have thin ankles, chances are that you can run a little bit. He had a super get-off and competes hard. Solid prospect in our eyes.
El Camino’s Ryna Ena was another kid that really looked the part in the heights and weights area and performed nicely throughout the day. One other thing that we noticed about him was that he has large hands. He’ll be a nice prospect for a college to get.
Long Beach Poly’s Corey Waller (who has an offer from Washington) was bit a bit tight in the hips in all drills but physically cut an imposing presence and looked good in all drills. If Sark gerts him, he’s getting one of the steals from the Nike Camp.
Scouts were a bit disappointed in the performance of St. Bonaventure DE/LB Jalen Jefferson. It just didn’t seem like he wanted to compete all day. Scouts had some red flags on him at the end of the day.
A 2012 prospect to keep your eye on is Monrovia DE Ellis McCarthy.
Linebacker
There was no doubt that Mission Viejo prospect Tre Madden was the best LB at the camp all day. He has the look though of a strong safety at the next level , but he is instinctive and runs very well. He’ll have more than two offers when the spring evaluation period is over.
Rancho Bernardo prospect Aaron Wallace Jr. used the Nike Combine and the Nike Camp to his benefit last weekend. He ran a nice 4.7 electronic 40 yard dash on Saturday and looked good in all the drills on Sunday. He only has one offer from Texas A&m and their has to be more to his situation than what is happening on the football field.
Couple of sleepers to keep your eye on include Jeremiah Allison of Dorsey, Cleavon Barnes of Lancaster and Matthew Remondo out of New Mexico.
Defensive Backs
When Crenshaw’s De’Anthony Thomas decided to participate with this group on Sunday, it made this group a whole lot better. For someone who was doing it for the first time on Sunday, he did just fine. He showed great recovering speed and goot instincts. I think former USC Trojan great Keshawn Johnson said it the best when he said, “this kid will play DB in the pros.” We’ll take his word for it.
Chino Hills’ Ifo Ekpre-Olumu is our area top ranked defensive back and he did nothing to lose that title at the end of the day. What people forget about him is that he so smooth, it’s great to watch. I think he’s an SC guy at the end of the day, the RSC will be the final chapter to his story.
Corona Santiago has two interesting prospects in Simon Connette and Theirry Nguema. Connette has the package that makes him recruitable. Great skills on the field and nice game tape. Nguema looks great in short and shirts, but his highlight and game tape leave a lot left to be desired. He is a pure senior film prospect.
Baldwin Park prospect Demetrius Jackson showed great range in the 7 on 7 drills and had the positive fibe’s of scouts at the end of the day. Again, another prospect that needs better game film for him to be a Pac-10 prospect.
A 2012 prospect to keep your eye on is West Covina DB Chris Solomon. Just loves way he performed in the drills and he made a very high impression with scouts at the heights and weights area.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

My guess as to what the punishments for USC will be:Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post
basketball: the players will have to run a few laps in the gym.
football: the players will only be issued two pair of socks for both home and away uniforms.

wins in 2004 and 2005 are vacated; 5 fewer scholarships for 2011 and 2012; two-year postseason ban; two years of probation.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostMy guess as to what the punishments for USC will be:

I'm convinced the NCAA wouldn't take this long to submit their punishment unless it was stone-cold serious about nailing USC."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

I will be surprised if the penalty is the harsh. I don' think it will be handed to them this bad but I don't think it will be a little slap on the wrist. My thought is they are going to lose 5 scholarships for the nest 2 to 3 years.Originally posted by BoylenOver View Postwins in 2004 and 2005 are vacated; 5 fewer scholarships for 2011 and 2012; two-year postseason ban; two years of probation.

hey sizzle, TD's been awol for a month. Surely it's unrelated to the imminent demise of his Trojans?Originally posted by Sizzle View PostDDD, let's be honest and get to what really matters.
How is this going to effect USC on NCAA 2011? Am I going to need to find a new team to play with instead.
FIGHT ON!
