I see Jimmer Fredette and Danny Ainge, but I don't see Andre Miller anywhere on this National Player of the year list. Can someone help me out?

Let me guess for you:Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostThis is comical.
Best college career. Jimmer Fredette. Just ignore his mediocre tournament success, he is the greatest. He scored lots of points on an uptempo team while allowing lots of points on the other end. He is the greatest. Ignore the fact he didn't start as a freshman, while Miller was hitting big shots at the end of the game to take his team to the sweet 16.
Best NBA career. Jimmer Fredette. He has been held down by coaches. He will prove himself the best soon enough once a coach realizes his greatness.
Best combined. Jimmer Fredette. Obviously. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

I think I know who turned in Davies to the honor code office.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostBest NBA career - Damian Lillard. His peak is better than Miller's peak, although he may not last as long in the league as Miller
Best college career - Andre Miller. Being the best player on a final four team and elite eight team, gives him the edge. Throw in a sweet 16 run for good measure as a freshman.
Best overall college/NBA - Andre Miller.
Because going far in the tourney is ALWAYS about having 1 good player...

Yes because player of the year doesn't include other factors such as competition for the award.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI see Jimmer Fredette and Danny Ainge, but I don't see Andre Miller anywhere on this National Player of the year list. Can someone help me out?

Compare the competition that Fredette had for the award with Miller and get back to me.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

The committee compared jimmers competition with Wright's and decided that it was superior to a uconn/big east slate so they gave the award to Jimmer. Not sure why andre millers competition would be any better than Wrights.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostYes because player of the year doesn't include other factors such as competition for the award.

So that is his excuse for his senior year, what is the excuse for his freshman through junior years?Originally posted by Eddie View PostI think I know who turned in Davies to the honor code office.

Here is a little trivia. Keith Van Horn didn't play the first game of the NCAA tournament during Miller's freshman year. He also was limited in the second game of the tournament Miller's freshman year and Miller was the best player on the floor against Iowa St.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

NBA draft picks from Utah that played with Miller:Originally posted by mpfunk View PostBest college career - Andre Miller. Being the best player on a final four team and elite eight team, gives him the edge. Throw in a sweet 16 run for good measure as a freshman.
Michael Doleac
Hanno Mottola
Keith Van Horn
NBA draft picks from BYU that played with Fredette:
None
Undrafted NBA players from Utah that played with Miller:
Britton Johnson
Undrafted NBA players from Utah that played with Fredette:
Brandon Davies
Did I miss anyone? Clearly, going to overtime in the Sweet Sixteen without the only other future NBA player from the team indicates that Jimmer was not as good a player as someone who advanced a couple rounds further while sharing the court with four other future NBA players."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Let's also not ignore the fact that college basketball was better at the time. More of the best players were staying 2-3 years, not the 1 and done that Fredette was facing up against.Originally posted by Pelado View PostNBA draft picks from Utah that played with Miller:

Good point. Kobe, T-Mac and KG were absolutely dominating college basketball during Miller's time.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostLet's also not ignore the fact that college basketball was better at the time. At least the best players were playing in college when Fredette was at BYU.I'm like LeBron James.
