I'm guessing Euroleague hoop is based on the idea from soccer. Does Euroleague also do the gold patches? I'm sure that comes from the World Cup.Originally posted by Jacob View PostYou could say he's ripping off Euroleague, but maybe they stole it from soccer. So Russell...what do you love about music? I didn't know you were a Fredette fan. Nice to see you once in a while being objective and not seeing everything through red, gender neutral glasses. A Utah person sir a Utah person are you......Originally posted by mpfunk View PostPoor Monty Williams, he does not know the extent of the backlash he is about to see calling him the worst coach in the NBA if/when he doesn't play Fredette.

The fan in me would like to see him go someplace where he will actually play a decent amount of time, even if that's Greece or some other overseas option. The working guy in me figures he made whatever choice he feels is best for him and his family.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI am not sure he see's the floor. Shouldn't Fredette be focusing his career right now on being an off the ball player? His best value in the NBA is going to be hitting a spot up jump shot. He hasn't shown the ability to create his shot or create for other players. Seems like playing with players that need the ball in their hands is a good move, so that he can play off the ball and try to get open shots when the defense collapses.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI am not sure he see's the floor. It sounds like this move is exactly that. He's getting a shot to replace Anthony Morrow as a shooting specialist. Morrow got 18 minutes a game. averaged 8 pts, and shot 45% from 3. Jimmer should be able to beat that if he doesn't give it all back on the other end of the floor.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostShouldn't Fredette be focusing his career right now on being an off the ball player? Looking at the Pelicans roster they definitely need shooters.
Front court starters will most likely be: Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson Tyreke Evans. Asik, Ajinca, Casspi, Aminu and Darius Miller will back those guys up.
I could also see them play Asik and Davis together with Evans at the 3.
The backcourt is a bit more wide open.
Starters are Holiday and Gordon.
After that its a crap shoot, I know they really like Brian Roberts who averaged 9 a game last year off the bench. Austin Rivers has been a bit of a bust, and Russ Smith is a rookie.
I would expect Jimmer to log some time at the 2 behind Gordon. It will also help that the second unit will have Asik and Ajinca protecting the rim behind him.
Depending on how you classify Tyreke Evans they only have 1 SG on the roster in Eric Gordon.
Jimmer played 10 or more minutes in 23 games last year. In those games he averaged 8.9 points in 15.3 minutes and shot 50.3% from 3 and 45% from the floor.Last edited by cougjunkie; 07-18-2014, 09:12 AM.*Banned*

You could say that about just about anywhere he goes unless he goes to Europe. They need shooters. Jimmer's in a situation where almost regardless of where he goes, lack of PT is going to be an issue. At least he may be able to add value with his ability to shoot and earn minutes.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI am not sure he see's the floor. Evans played the 1, 2, and 3 in NO last year. And at season's end, it was being speculated that they may use Evans as the starting SG going forward with Gordon coming off the bench. But he logged most of his minutes in the back court. That could change if they decide to go small and play Holiday, Gordon, and Evans a lot of minutes together, but from what their coach has said it sounds like they want to stagger Gordon and Evans as much as possible.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostLooking at the Pelicans roster they definitely need shooters.

I don't think Aminu is signed for next year yet, so they do have an opening at SF, though Casspi helps fill that some. It will be interesting to see how they fill out the roster because they are at 13 guys right now I think.

Also looks like Brian Roberts went to the Hornets (These stupid name changes are throwing me off between these two teams).
Pelicans only have Holiday and Rivers on the roster as PGs right now, with Gordon, Evans and Jimmer.
Looks like they officially extended contracts to Patric Young and Russ Smith.
Seems that Jimmer should be able to find some minutes.Last edited by cougjunkie; 07-18-2014, 09:34 AM.*Banned*
