How long is his $960,000 for and is any part of it guaranteed? If he is smart with his money he will be able to live a very comfortable life. He will have to be smart though. A million dollar income isn't what it used to be.

It is fully guaranteed for 1 season. He made $7,084,440 the past 3 seasons with the Kings/Bulls. This will push his career earnings over $8,000,000. Once you add in any endorsement deals I bet he is over 10,000,000 pretty easily. He will live a comfortable life.Originally posted by byu71 View PostHow long is his $960,000 for and is any part of it guaranteed? Comfortable is relative. Yea relative to 95%, he will be comfortable. $10,000,000. After taxes and tithing, he has around say $5,500,000 net. Over 3 years he I will bet spent $70,000 living and maybe $750,000 on a house. He now has about $4.5 million left.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostIt is fully guaranteed for 1 season. At 5.0% that's about $250,000 a year. He can't quit his day job for a while.
I hope he isn't hooking up some ward members who have great deals he can get into. If he does, he might need a day job for a heck of a long time.

It is as good a spot to try to get minutes for him as anywhere else, unless Philly or some other tanking team would've come calling.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostIn the last 3 days they have signed Darius Miller and Jimmer.
Also looks like Brian Roberts went to the Hornets (These stupid name changes are throwing me off between these two teams).
Pelicans only have Holiday and Rivers on the roster as PGs right now, with Gordon, Evans and Jimmer.
Looks like they officially extended contracts to Patric Young and Russ Smith.
Seems that Jimmer should be able to find some minutes.
I hope NO will find a way to get Jimmer some 3's from the corners. He shot 47% from 3 last year even though he only took 10% of his 3 attempts from the corners. He made 8 out of 9 corner 3 attempts. They could have a tough offense to guard if they put Holiday and Davis in the pick and roll, and spread Anderson, Jimmer, and Gordon along the 3pt line.

I am pretty sure most could live quite comfortably on $250k and would not need a day job.Originally posted by byu71 View PostComfortable is relative. I also think his dad is a financial planner so I am sure Jimmer is being smart with his money.
On top of that if this is his last year in the NBA, he can head overseas for a few years and put 3-5 million in the bank.
He will be just fine.*Banned*

Just wait. Next he's going to announce that if teams are tied at the end of regulation, they'll have 1 over-time period. And if they are still tied at the end of the over-time period, they'll shoot free throws to see who wins.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSilver seems to have a lot of ideas for the NBA. I'll bet at some point he even has some that aren't ripping off soccer.

I'm happy for Jimmer Fredette that he is financially set. Since comparisons between Jimmer Fredette and Andre Miller are often made on this site, Miller's career earnings are 91.5 million and he is set to make 4.6 million next year.
Since Miller likes to sneak into media lines for free food, I'm guessing that he has been smart enough with his money that he is also set for life.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Nice apples to oranges comparison of career earnings between two guys - one who has played 16 years in the league the other who has played 3 years.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm happy for Jimmer Fredette that he is financially set. Exactly. If we wanted to compare apples to apples we could compare jimmers sat score with andre millers sat score.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostNice apples to oranges comparison of career earnings between two guys - one who has played 16 years in the league the other who has played 3 years.Fitter. Funk is still bitter about Jimmer being the greatest collegiate player in the history of our great state.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostNice apples to oranges comparison of career earnings between two guys - one who has played 16 years in the league the other who has played 3 years.
Andre Miller has made $60,000,000 more than James Harden, $74,000,000 more than John Wall and Kyrie Irving. I wonder who NBA execs would rather have? Funk would make a great GM.
Andre also didn't get paid until his 5th year in the league. So let's see what happens. He made less than Jimmer his first 4 years.*Banned*

Good point, why don't we compare the 2 players after their first contract after their rookie deal. After this rookie deal, Andre Miller signed a 6 year 51.9 million dollar contract. Jimmer Fredette signed a 1-year league minimum deal for 950,000.00. Andre Miller's salary was higher than league minimum and did guarantee another 6 years earning a salary in the NBA.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostNice apples to oranges comparison of career earnings between two guys - one who has played 16 years in the league the other who has played 3 years.
The good news is it looks like both players will have financial security for themselves and their family. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

You can keep believing that Fredette is the best player ever in the state of Utah, but you will continue to be wrong.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostFunk is still bitter about Jimmer being the greatest collegiate player in the history of our great state.

I'm don't need to use salary to prove that Miller is a better NBA player than Fredette. I don't really think anyone is going to argue that Fredette is a better NBA player. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Best NBA career - Damian Lillard. His peak is better than Miller's peak, although he may not last as long in the league as Miller
Best college career - Andre Miller. Being the best player on a final four team and elite eight team, gives him the edge. Throw in a sweet 16 run for good measure as a freshman.
Best overall college/NBA - Andre Miller. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression
