I wouldn't either but a threepeat would be tough to take. The truth is that the East is so bad they'll be back in the nba finals next year, too.

LeBron took so much flack for leaving Cleveland that I have no problem with seeing him win three in a row and shut up all the haters for good.

On the other hand, the Spurs offense is so fun to watch, and I'm so impressed by Duncan doing this at his age, I wouldn't mind seeing San Antonio win, either.

      Fun Finals to watch, IMO.

I want to see them do four in a row, so all the haters can shut up and his prediction when he signed would be close to coming true. Mike and Kobe and Shaq never did four, and I think it would be an interesting storyline for next year.

Wait so you can't pull for Ginobili because he flops, but can pull for Bron Bron. Seems inconsistent.

You are right, with LeBron being 6-8 and 250, he is worse.

Shows how little Digger watches basketball. He probably thinks the Spurs are boring too.

                • Unfortunately flopping has just become part of basketball. I don't particularly think any one team is worse than any other.

I'm really excited for this Larry O'Brien NBA Finals, last year was an amazing series and I think this year will be as well. In a rare moment I'm alright with either team winning, Timmy gets to get #5 and redeem last season while overcoming the gay rumors of the offseason (not that anyone needs to overcome a gay rumor, he should be honored that people thought he was gay). LeBron gets to join the 3peat club and set up an exciting 14-15 season while he chases 4 in a row.

                  Win-win for me.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

                    • I've been a Spurs bandwagon fan for the last decade. I'd love for Duncan to go out in style. It seems like this Spurs team is better than last year, and that they match up with the Heat better than anyone. But it almost feels like the second three-peat for the Bulls, like destiny. As much as I convinced myself that the Jazz could beat them, it wasn't going to happen.

Either way, I see a long series. Of course that's based on Parker returning to full strength.

I agree. Spurs improved, the Heat regressed. Spurs win the series.

I felt like the Heat regressed most of the season. Then their offense went crazy once the playoffs started. I think I read today that they put up a 135/100 possessions in Game 6 against Indiana.

I can't remember how Ginobili was playing in the playoffs last year before reaching the Finals. I'm wondering how Duncan and Ginobili will be holding up when this series hits game 5 or 6. That is a dang long season for guys that have that many basketball miles on their legs.

That makes me feel better about the Spurs' chances. Thanks

I'm most interested in seeing how LeBron deals with the Spurs defense this time around. There is no question they will play him the same way as last year in terms of packing it in and making him take jump shots. I thought LeBron took too many long twos last year against his better judgment. If they are going to back off and let him shoot long jumpers, he needs to take threes. If he has to shoot 10 threes a game, so be it.

IIRC, there were times in the first 4-5 games where James was open even from 17 feet and would pass on the jumper. Those have to be immediate takes this time around, like they were in Game 7.

Agree about James taking more 3's. But the same has to be done by Bosh. In a 7 game series last year, Bosh took only six 3's. Compare that to the Indiana series the round before where he shot 16 3's. In the ECF this year he attempted 26 3's. He should be playing the same way against SA if they are packing the defense in to keep James out of the lane. Bosh shot 74 3's in the regular season in 2012-13, and 218 this season. Him being more comfortable in that role could be a significant shift in this series. James was also more likely to take a 3 this season, taking 50 more 3's even though his total FGAs was almost identical to last season. His 3pt rate is up about 3% in this year's playoffs compared to last year.
