Is there any precedent for a team being lead by older players (35+ yo), get to either the conference finals or finals, and it appears those older players get all tuckered out and their play suffers? I don't know if it was injury or age last year for Ginobili, but since he looks so much better this year I'm going to guess it was something wrong with his body and not just being worn down.
But when this series hits game 5 or game 6, I wonder how 38 yo Duncan and 36 yo Ginobili will be holding up. That's yet another long season on legs that have logged a lot of miles. Pop has certainly managed their minutes well all season so maybe that makes it work out in the end. And they aren't battling back and foot problems like Bird, McHale, and Parrish were at the end of their run.

Isn't Wade much healthier this year? I haven't had time to pay attention too closely this year.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI think Ginobili was hurt last year. Yes, he's much played much better as well. Throughout the playoffs last year he spent half the time getting his knee drained.Originally posted by CJF View PostIsn't Wade much healthier this year? That seems to be the general consensus, but I'm not really convinced. Whether he is or isn't, he does seem to be more rested after missing nearly half the season.Originally posted by CJF View PostIsn't Wade much healthier this year? He was clearly much worse off last year at this time.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

21 PER to 18 last year. .578 eFG% to .498. ORtg up 10 points. WS/48 up 50%. And importantly for Wade, FTA rate is up.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostThat seems to be the general consensus, but I'm not really convinced. Admittedly, this year's stats don't include numbers against SA yet, like last year's, and we know the Spurs are going to just pack it in on Wade and let him shoot 18 footers all game. But he's gone up against some good defenses so far and he's putting up better numbers.

What's his fg% on long jumpers this postseason? Seems like this postseason he's making as many from 16 ft out to the 3pt line as I ever remember him making.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View Post21 PER to 18 last year. .578 eFG% to .498. 37.5% from 10-16, 37.1% from 16-3 (this was 32% last year), 39% from 3 (7-18 this year, 25% last year on 4 attempts)Originally posted by Donuthole View PostWhat's his fg% on long jumpers this postseason? Much better than his last 2 years, still worse than earlier in his career

In a Finals preview I remember reading he was right around 45% on midrange jumpers this postseason and last year something like 38-39%. Article was suggesting that how well he converts on those midrange jumpers is a pretty decent sign of his knee. Doesn't have much of a base to shoot when the knee is bothering him a lot.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
