After he misses the first four games of the year for something similar? That's when you know you've got a problem.

It will cost him a minimum 3.1 million. I saw a tweet Jags recievers busted for substance abuse:

Jimmy Smith, Andre Rison RJ Sowards, Reggie Williams, Matt Jones and Justin Blackmon. The later four all first round picks in the last decade.

IMO Blackmon has shown more than Williams, Jones or Sowards ever did as 1st round picks. He has looked like a playmaker and someone who could contend with AJ Green/Julio Jones for best young WR in the NFL. But not if he can't stay on the field.

          • Speaking of dumbasses, Aldon Smith was reactivated yesterday by the Niners.

I also wonder about Josh Gordon who is one more suspension away from being kicked out of the league for a year. There were some rumors out there that the Browns were shopping him to other teams but wanted a 2nd round pick in return. Unless it's common knowledge with the management of these teams that it's not a matter of if but when with Gordon that he'll get caught again, then every receiver-needy team should have traded a 2nd for that dude in a heartbeat. Gordon is really, really good.

Of course, with the way he has played this year after his suspension, it may have increased the Browns' asking price and supposedly it might have transformed into a demand for a first round pick. That's the price point where teams might balk given Gordon's history.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Sure glad Gordon never made it to Utah.

              • I went 9-3 last week and 9-5 the week before. So count on these being atrocious picks to even things out.

                Chiefs (-4) over Bills

                Titans (-3) over Rams

                Cowboys (-10.5) over Viking

                Jets over Saints (-7)

                Chargers (-1.5) over Redskins

                Falcons over Panthers (-8)

                Steelers over Pats (-7)

                Seahawks (-16) over Bucs

                Raiders (-3) over Eagles

                Browns over Ravens (-3)

                Colts (-3) over Texans

                Packers (-11) over Bears

                • Jeff Tuel starts in the NFL. How is that even possible? Guy was terrible last year at Wazzu.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

One of the great things about the NFL as opposed to college football -- the worst teams in the league can beat the best teams if they play well and the other team is off their game.
