I think ranked teams have lost to FCS schools 3 times since 2000. Probably about 3 out of 100 or so?

Poor Tampa Bay and Schiano. Sucks. Carroll with that shit-eating grin/smirk after the win.

I'm not sure comparing Tampa to an FCS is fair, in fact I think it's pretty silly.

Yeah I guess if you just compare it to a #32 team in college football going up 21-0 on a top 5 team then that's a better comparison. My bad.

College football upsets aren't that rare, but there's a reason there's no such thing as a suicide pool in college football, right? Appalachian State over Michigan is more like a once a decade thing.

Foles has been hit and miss. Also Vick said he heard his hammy pop he, he might be done anyway.

In literature they call that foreshadowing.

Jerk! That just made me laugh out loud, and I (almost) feel bad about it.

If so he's likely out 6-8 weeks.

Sucks, not a Packers fan but I like watching Aaron Rodgers play. I suppose the Packers could still limp into the playoffs, but I think they'd have to get to 10-6. I'm not sure they can pull that off -- they have road games against Chicago, Detroit and the Cowboys on the schedule. Rodgers' injury opens up that division and may even allow Dallas to sneak into the #3 seed, though I doubt it because Detroit might have the edge in that division right now.

Either San Francisco or Seattle will be getting that #5 seed. If the Packers hold on and take that division (which isn't looking good right now) and end up #4, then they'll be getting Rodgers back for the playoffs. Then all of a sudden that first round playoff game in Lambeau would look like a bear. Before, it was going to just be whatever patsy came out of the NFC East.

But looking at Detroit's schedule in the back half, I can see them going 6-2. They have what could be a tough road game at Chicago, but the Giants, Bucs, Steelers and Vikings are also on the schedule (along with Green Bay and Baltimore at home and Philly on the road). So, I think Detroit very well could finish 11-5, which would put Dallas or whatever NFC East team at the #4 spot.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                              • The Giants sure looked pretty terrible during the first six weeks of the season. But now with the Rodgers injury, I could see those guys winning four straight and getting to .500 before they have to play on the road at San Diego, another game they could win if they're on a hot streak. Then, I think Dallas is going 3-4 down the stretch and finishing at 9-7. The Redskins won't go better than 7-9. I don't know what to think about the Eagles. I don't think I've seen a more unexpected game in years than that Philly @ Oakland game yesterday.
