Jimmer had plenty of conference championships in by far a tougher conference than what Andre Miller played in.

He was also consensus NPOY, was Andre?

Since all that matters is points per game and we are going to ignore everything including pace, ability to run a team, clutch play, rebounds, assists, etc. Can we all just agree that Billy McGill is 10 times better than Jimmer Fredette and 20 times better than Andre Miller and be done with this debate. McGill averaged 38.1 ppg in one season, so clearly he is better than Fredette.

Yep that Wilt Chamberlain who can't even dribble is the best big man ever.

No reason to take the era in to account.

I think someone is clearly forgetting the quality of the WAC during the late 90s.

Miller didn't win player of the year. Unlike Fredette he actually had legit competition for the award.

Exactly he had competition and failed. Jimmer had competition and succeeded. In fact he actually beat out the best player on the national champions for every major award. How often does that happen?

When the best player on the national championship team isn't great, it happens quite frequently. I can think of another time it happened, Andrew Bogut.

No, Jimmer Fredette didn't have competition for player of the year that is the point. His competition was weak in comparison to Miller. Remember how everyone was talking about it being such a weak draft this year, that is a reflection of the poor competition that Fredette had for POY.

2010-2011 First Team All-Americans: Jimmer Fredette, JuJuan Johnson, Nolan Smith, Jared Sullinger, Kemba Walker

1998-1999 First Team All-Americans: Andre Miller, Jason Terry, Mateen Cleaves, Elton Brand, and Richard Hamilton

Miller actually had competition for the award. If Duke had a player the caliber of Elton Brand in 2011, Fredette would have suffered the same fate as Miller.

Since we are talking individual awards, congrats to Jimmer Fredette on his all-tournament team award, oh wait he never got one of those individual awards. I wouldn't trade Miller's all-tournament team award in 1998 and trip to the championship game for Fredette's POY.

Why should we take era into account when we aren't going to take pace into account.

Bo Kimble is 10 times the college player of Jimmer Fredette. He scored 35.3 ppg in 1989-1990.

Kevin Bradshaw is better than Jimmer Fredette. He scored 37.6 ppg in 1990-1991.

And the number of times a player is repeatedly exposed to his head coach's junk.

This didn't really help your argument.

No matter what Jimmer does, his CUF thread cannot escape the shadow of Andre Miller!!!

Pretty fair write-up. One quibble would be that on his pick and roll plays that result in turnovers, the bigs setting the picks did not roll into position to receive the passes.
