I really doubt TJ is the first or the last close relative to complain about his family member not getting playing time. I realize that TJ and Jimmer are particularly close, but I don't see why this would be a big deal.
However, there is definitely something going on between Smart and Jimmer. Jimmer had a similar string of good scoring games similar to Isaiah and then got benched. My guess is that something happened behind the scenes and Jimmer is paying for it."To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail."

This was one of the things TJ said. When Jimmer started for Thornton he was playing great and then gets two DNP-CD's while IT was getting minutes. Now that IT is in the lineup he isn't getting any time.Originally posted by WashingtonCoug View PostI really doubt TJ is the first or the last close relative to complain about his family member not getting playing time. Two thoughts about Jimmer.
1. Didn't many this string of not playing at all start after the Jazz game? Maybe SMR was onto something with his comment about how he'd never seen an NBA player have to rationalize why he took a last second shot. Did that moment plant some kind of seed of doubt in Jimmer by his coaches/team?
2. Until Jimmer starts playing or doing something that should be celebrated, maybe we should start a new thread. It is kind of sad seeing this thread of joy turned into a thread of complaint/sorrow.Get confident, stupid

Can you blame TJ? He can't get noticed when his gravy train is in the roundhouse.Originally posted by Surfah View PostTJ went off on Twitter last night after Jimmer got another DNP-CD. Smart is not a good coach and the Kings are not a good franchise. These facts will continue to manifest over time. However, right now IT is playing pretty well so it is hard to find fault with IT getting playing time. Jimmer's lack of minutes and 2 CDNPs are head scratchers and don't have a good explanation that we know of, but to be honest a coach does not necessarily need to explain himself. Smart will get fired at the end of the season when this team fails to show any improvement and the talent of Evans and Cousins continues to get wasted.Originally posted by Shaka View PostI agree with Jeff Chatman and TJ. Smart is a terrible coach, however his benching of Jimmer has nothing to do with that.
His rotations are awful, his teams run zero set plays, they are the worst team in teh NBA at getting back on defense. You saw it in Golden State and you are now seeing it in Sacramento.
You can tell he has no communication with his players they have no idea what they are supposed to do, the rotations, defensive assignments, etc. It is like watching a college all-star game except the other team is actually playing defense.
Evans has potentially to be a solid NBA player but he absolutely can not play off the ball. He is a terrible spot up shooter and is nothing but a slasher that needs the ball in his hands.
Thornton is a chucker. He needs 20+ shots a game to score 20 points. He is clearly that guy who even after a loss will talk about how well he played.
Cousins is as talented as any big man in the NBA and that includes Dwight Howard. He has range to 20 feet, he is an elite rebounder and low post scorer. The problem is he needs more coaching. He posts up 20 feet from the basket, he gets rebounds and brings the ball down between his legs before going back up, and he is a mental midget getting way to emotional about things.
Jimmer and IT are rookie PGs and it shows. Jimmer has a higher ceiling mainly because he is a much better shooter and he is bigger. IT is fast and does a good job of staying in front of his man however guys just shoot over him. Rodney Stuckey had 35 on him the other night. Chalmers went off last night. He does a great job staying in front of his man but it really doesn't matter.
Other than that they do not have a single quality piece on this team. Chuck Hayes is done, JJ Hickson is garbage, Jason Thompson would be a decent 4th big on a team but he is not a starter. Donte Green is 6'11 and does nothing but bomb threes, Francisco Garcia sucks, and John Salmons is a terrible fit for this team.
In fact other than Jimmer they don't have a single shooter on the team.
TJ needs to shut his mouth about IT. As a starter Thomas is averaging 20 points 7 assists, 5 boards and shooting 55% from the floor and 56% from three. He deserves to starter right now. However the Kings are 0-3 with him in the starting lineup.*Banned*

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

can't remember where I heard this (probably KNBR out of San Francisco) but someone the other day was going off about how 4 year college players don't improve after year one in the NBA.
I believe they were focusing on Tyler Hansboro, but I only caught a little bit of it. Don't know if it's true or not, but found it interesting.
