Jazz fans will hate it if Kemba isn't good. Do you really see Jazz fans hating the pick and KOC getting fired if Kemba is ROY and the Jazz get out of the first round?

He seems to be the only person who thinks Jazz would consider Kemba. He's the same guy that gives us valuable info from workouts like the bombshell "no complaints" from Kanter's agent following the Jazz workout.

I don't think the guy has any credibility and no real sources from the Jazz. I put zero stock into that prediction. But I do still read every tweet he makes, because I'm addicted to this stuff.

I might be dreaming this but it seems like someone on Twitter just said Feldman from HoopsReport has some legit sources.

But even if he does what it probably means is Walt Perrin is telling him the Jazz like Kemba, KOC is telling Ford they are going to take Kanter if he's there, and Greg Miller is getting background checks done on all prospects to see if any of them use swears.

I see Kemba as being like Brandon Jennings rather than Chris Paul. In other words: serviceable as an NBA PG at best.

Do you really see Kemba as the ROY? Not going to happen, IMO.

          • Jimmer at 12 seems like a perfect fit for the Jazz. Aside from the increased jerseys/tickets angle. Can you guys think of a better point guard to run the pick n roll than jimmer? There certainly isnt another point guard in this draft who could do it better than him.

Yes, he appears to have some sources, but does he have a track record of analysis and fairly accurate mock drafts? I don't see much in the way of analysis. Lots of quantity posting, not much quality.

Anyway, DX's latest mock now has Jazz taking Knight and Burks. Jimmer to Indy at 15.

The Jazz are still far from making a final decision here, and probably won't for a while until they get to see all the main candidates in person (Knight, Enes Kanter, Kemba Walker, Jonas Valanciunas and Bismack Biyombo). For now, most NBA people have Knight penciled in here. Guard is a huge position of need for the Jazz and Knight is considered the most talented one after Irving.
The team is also actively exploring trade opportunities, namely for a proven starting point guard. It's an indication that things are still wide open at this pick.
I can't imagine the Jazz trying to trade #3 for a "proven starting point guard." That doesn't make any sense. They've already got one (Harris) who is not great, but is likely as good as anyone they could get in a trade for the #3 pick. Westbrook is not available, and I'm not sure what non=-All Star PG I'd want to get in exchange for the #3. Nobody comes to mind.

Interestingly, DX has Valanciunas going 4, and Kanter going 6.

Didn't Chris Paul win ROY and lead his team to the playoffs? Nevermind I can't read this morning.

With this crop of rookies, I wouldn't be shocked to see Kemba win the ROY. I wouldn't be shocked to see him ride the pine. I have no idea. I was just saying that there are other possibilities than fans hating Kemba and KOC getting fired.

I think it could be a pretty interesting first round. The likely different ratings teams have for Kanter/Valanciunas/Montiejunas/Biyombo and how cluttered it appears to be from picks 7 to about 17 could create a lot of movement on draft night.

I hope Utah has plans to work out Jordan Hamilton. He's so talented offensively and has good size for a 3...he reminds me a little of Glenn Robinson. But I don't know if I like him better than Thompson or Burks or Mar. Morris or Singleton.

So what you're saying is that you hope Utah doesn't work out Hamilton, so that they end up picking him?

I actually like Hamilton quite a bit. I don't think he's a franchise player, but he's somebody who has good size for a wing and can score. I'd love him at 12.

I'm losing hope of having Thompson be there at 12. But I'm warming to the idea of drafting Hamilton or Singleton, guys that I'm fairly certain will be contributors on at least one end of the court. With Singleton I think you'd get someone that you know could be a contributor on your team, but with Hamilton he's a guy that has a chance to be a huge value in the late lottery.

You are referring to Klay Thompson and not Tristan Thompson? Are you saying you'd prefer K Thompson to Burks? If neither Thompson or Burks is available at 12, then one of Biyombo, Leonard, or Vesely most likely is. And I'd be really happy with any of those 3 at 12.

                          • I'm on information overload with all of these players from 4-20 that can't seem to seperate themselves. At this point I find myself hoping they fill a position need at 12 more than anything.

I am also mildly interested in who the Bulls will pick with the 43rd pick they got from the Jazz (not that the Jazz would pick the same player but still I'm curious to see if he makes the squad that made it to the ECF in 2011).

Hamilton has a couple fairly significant red flags, IMO...He's a 6'8" frontcourt player who shot 44% FGs and he couldn't get to the line (3FTs per game)

Contrast that with a guy like Burks who shot 47% and got to the line about 8 time a game. The big question with Burks is whether his long distance shooting will be more like he shot as a soph or will he be more like Elder Hayward and improve on his solid freshman year shooting.
