I have no idea what game or how good of seats these are. I kind of think if I get 20 throwaway tix to the nosebleed section for some low demand game I would rather get a jersey or something. I'll be happy if these are lower bowl, but odds are against. Either way, i'm pretty stoked."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! You wonder where the seats are at? Of course they are upper bowl throw away seats to most likely a crappy game. I would see if you could pawn them off and work something like 4 sets of tickets to 5-games instead. Or two lower bowl tix.Originally posted by Commando View PostI have no idea what game or how good of seats these are. I am harboring irrational hopes that Deron has connections and is willing to expend them for his contest. I wouldn't suppose 20 tix would yield good seats, but damn it looks like I'll at least have a section to myself. This bodes well for my chances of lassoing a t-shirt from the cannon!Originally posted by Sizzle View PostYou wonder where the seats are at? Roy Hibbert and Danny Granger coming to town tonight. I was always kind of high on Hibbert and was hoping he'd slip to the Jazz at 23. He didn't, and we ended up with the Kofus burger.
Many seemed to think that Kofus would be just as good or better than Hibbert, but I was never in that camp. I remember having a "discussion" on CB a few years back about Hibbert and some poster (can't remember who) was adamant that Hibbert would never be any better than Fess was that year. IIRC, Fess was averaging less than 1ppg. Looks like Hibbert has surpassed that threshold, albeit only slightly.
As for tonight's game, I see this as a trap game. With Dallas coming to town on Friday, I can see some of the young players on the team looking past Indy, penciling in a win against an Eastern Conference middle-dweller. Hope it doesn't bite them.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I scored a pair of courtside seats to watch G-Town and Hibbert dismantle Oregon a few years ago, and I have dreamed of him in a Jazz uni many times since then.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostRoy Hibbert and Danny Granger coming to town tonight. Hibbert is way better than I thought he'd be. Even at 7'2" I thought his level of plodding unathleticism wouldn't lead him anywhere. The Jazz reportedly loved him.
Also, kid was horrid when he first entered the league and that was on an awful team -- don't give up on Hayward yet!
(As a sidenote, everyone is way too reactionary with the kid right now -- but people tend to do that with rookies)So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Hibbert in a Jazz uniform playing 10-12 min a night would almost make me forget how hillarious it has been to give Fes the benefit of the doubt night after night."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

As an additional aside, the rookie class this year has looked awful so far in general. Even can't-miss studs like Evans (looks just terrible), Cousins (performing way below where everyone thought he'd be) and Johnson (thoroughly mediocre) look very middling right now. I'm sure most of them will pick it up.Originally posted by MarkGrace View Post(As a sidenote, everyone is way too reactionary with the kid right now -- but people tend to do that with rookies)
Jazz were in love with Monroe, and he's been brutal. Luke Babbitt has played a total of 30 minutes. Henry looks bad, George has played twice in the last 10 games and has been put on the "inactive" list in recent games.
Most of these guy play on awful teams and still aren't getting much traction. G-Hay has been a disappointment so far, but none of the players taken after him have made me think we've blew it by taking him. Lot of games still to be played. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
