And unfortunately what else is going to happen is he's going to be put into a very smart, specific defensive scheme that will have everyone else on the court in great position. Boozer is a really talented player who is maximized if playing next to a defensive center in a great defensive scheme. He gets both of those things in Chicago.

If they can land James and hold onto Deng, that team is going to be really tough defensively. Winning and playing deep into the playoffs can do odd things to guys on the defensive end...see Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. So if Derrick Rose decides he's going to defend as well with his athleticism and strength, that team could be awesome in Thibodeau's schemes.

We'll see if like the Cavs, however, that the Bulls would have great defensive coaching and then look like they've got no clue on offense.

      Doesn't sound like a S&T.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Hell, I would take a trade exception. Use it later to get a player in the $16 mil per range. That puts Boozer as being paid like a top 20 player. With his injury history, he isn't worth it.

The exception could land Utah Antawn Jamison, Al Jefferson, Rip Hamilton, Chandler, or Iguodola. None of those guys besides Al can replace Boozer, but at least some have value.

LOL.. we ain't getting squat for this. We don't have to pay big luxury tax!

Now the Jazz are going to do nothing this summer (except match Wes Matthews) and then we get G-Hay!

          • Hollinger says the salary # for the first year dips $600,000 if the contract is via S&T. Not sure how that would work, but it might be enough to make the Bulls want to do it if they are signing James to make sure it fits under the cap.

            • Nbafanhouse is saying Booz deal is less than 80 mil....

What a great start couple of months:

Your center blows up his achilles
              Draft a stat filler
              Lose Booz for possibly nada
Overpay for Wes (who isn't going to get the luxury of WIDE open shots because who is going to double AK, Sap, Fesenkous besides the Orem 5th ward)

I should plan on saving a lot of time by not watching the Jazz anymore.

With a new CBA looming, I'm afraid that deal is just a bit too much. I think I give Booze $13 mil per. If you could count on Booze for 80+ games a year then he is worth more. But given his injury history I don't think you pay him that.

Jazz will survive. We will be scrappy and will be like a more talented version of the 2003ish team that was supposed to be the worst team in NBA history.

                    • Chiesa suggests the Jazz are probably going to go after a guy like Udonis Haslem, Luis Scola, Carl Landry or maybe even David Lee in a S&T.

Not overly exciting names, but likely AK also getting more minutes at the 4.

I wouldn't mind Landry or Scola

                        • I'm surprised Chiesa can talk about stuff like that on the radio. Is he not a coach on the Memphis staff, and just a scout or something instead?

He doesn't seem to have any insight into what the Jazz are doing. Just speculating. I thought he was an assistant coach.

I don't see the Kings trading Landry for anything the Jazz have. If the Jazz could get Scola for the MLE, that would be awesome. But it won't happen.

I have a strong distaste for Haslem. Don't like watching him play. I hope the Jazz don't get him.

I think he is their head of scouting.
