Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Man I like Westbrook but he plays like a madman. Billy Donovan clearly has no control over the star of the team, or else he would have made sure he didn't spend all game trying to "shut that shit down" chasing Ricky Rubio around all game while Donovan Mitchell and Joe Ingles wore out the net. I mean- I'm not even knowledgeable about the game of basketball and I saw that one coming a mile away. I think I even called it 2 days ago in this thread. SU-wish! (is that how it goes?)

Post-game press conference with Russ was pretty fun.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

having said that, that is still a fairly big IF. Mitchell is already there, just has to improve in a few minor aspects. improve his 3pt accuracy and his ability to get to the line. he does those things, the sky is the limit if he can stay healthy.
I have to be honest that in basketball terms, I think Simmons is the better player and prospect right now. But if I am drafting for Utah, I pick DM, no question. He fits the system, he is a great face for the franchise, everyone loves him, even other players and fans, and he at least allows me to think that he might stick around in Utah for the long haul. Simmons, OTOH, is surly, self-absorbed and seems like the sort of guy who would catch the first train out of Utah that he could. For the Jazz franchise, DM is a Great fit.
          PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Yes, because the majority of his minutes have come against Dante Exum.

If Simmons range is somewhere between Magic and LeBron then DM's ceiling is somewhere between MJ and DWade (hey, he scored more points in his first two playoff games than Jordan). So it's probably somewhere between the 1st best player of all-time and the 20th best player of all-time (is that where you'd slot Wade?)

I think you're overvaluing Simmons (like I'm vastly overvaluing DM in the above example). I don't think Simmons is quite that good. And I'm not a Simmons hater. FWIW, I think Jason Kidd is probably a better Simmons comp. Which, any team in the NBA would easily welcome the next Jason Kidd, hands down.

With that, both are having great rookie seasons. And honestly, I think both Utah and Philly are happy to have who they've got and they should both be really, really good for a long time.

Now if you read my post, unless you ignore the most important part, i didn't say Simmons range is between Lebron and Magic.
                I'm like LeBron James.

                    Kevin Durant on the Jazz

We got our asses kicked by them twice . . . I don’t look at (their success) as a surprise. Not saying that OKC is bad, or worse, but I know from personal experience how good that Utah team is.
The Utah Jazz are currently enjoying a commanding 3-1 lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder in their opening round playoff series, and while some are surprised by the success of the upstart Jazz, Kevin Durant saw it all coming thanks to a few blowout losses to them this…

                          How's spring football treating you?
