Favors has averaged 10 ppg, 10.3 rpg, and 4.7 bpg in the last 3. He's averaged 28 mpg in those 3.

Before the team got hammered against Denver, Favors had averaged 14.7 ppg and 8.7 rpg in only 25 mpg in the 3 games before that.

We thought Millsap was more deserving of the minutes tonight? With his 5 TOs and 4-11 shooting? Millsap played 38 minutes.

Over the last 21 games (March and April) Favors is averaging 10, 8.6, and 2.4 in 25 mpg.

I'm not exactly objective on the subject of Favors but it's obvious to everyone except the coach that he deserves more minutes. His block rate right now is off the charts. He's also starting to assert himself offensively. I'm still hoping he gets some touch around the basket but right now his overall game defensively is more vital to this team.

David Lockestep called in to the morning show this morning and in true spin mode he discussed Milsap's 2013 slump (height, attitude, attention to detail) but he also mentioned that Favors play is putting a lot of pressure on him to perform better.

If only there were a way for him to not play so many minutes and no be so tired. If only....

I think watching Favors lately it seems pretty clear that you can only run a three-man big rotation if you want some consistency. I think Enes has played well enough this year that the Jazz can count on him in a three-man rotation next year. But I had this horrifying thought last night. What if, because of his injury, the Jazz aren't sure he'll be 100% to start the year, and sign both Sap and Al again?!

Very true. But I suspect he was also referring to the length of the season wearing on him along with the minutes.

Yeah, maybe. He'll play more minutes total this year than he did last year obviously because of the lockout. But his minutes total will fall well short of what he did two years ago. For the most part he's been playing this many minutes a year since his 3rd year on the league. Maybe it's just from carrying a bigger role now.

They really just need Millsap to come off the bench and be on the second unit. I think he'd see more favorable matchups and be more dominant than he is now.

As I'm thinking about Favors and what we can expect of him offensively going forward, I was trying to find numbers I had seen on turnover breakdown for him compared to other players on the team. I was wondering what you guys think about what the breakdown showed. But I can't find the numbers...I'll keep looking.

But what they showed was that in terms of turnovers committed on passes, while dribbling, or having the ball stripped, Favors actually compares very favorably to how well Al protects the ball. The big disparity in turnovers between Favors and Al is in offensive fouls. And it ends up being a significant difference because Favors' TO rate is twice that of Al's. We know that Favors rolls off the screen a lot more than Jefferson and he also finishes on the break more, leading to many more chances at picking up a charge. Then you have Derrick's deliberate and somewhat predictable style of trying to get a shot off on the block, compared to Al's quick push shot or up and under helping him avoid charges.

But given that back drop of knowing the turnover disparity is almost completely attributable to Favors picking up charges vs. Al not, do you see that as a part of Favors' offensive game that should improve as he becomes more involved in the offense? Will he get better at not diving straight at the rim off the roll? Will he develop a go-to hook/slide shot that he can use across the lane while posting up? Or if those are things that won't change, will you worry less about what his turnovers mean in terms of his long term offensive development knowing that he isn't committing very many while passing or handling the ball?
