Utah also has some short-term options. I have to think they'll shop Mehmet Okur at the trade deadline since he's a fifth wheel in the frontcourt rotation and owns an expiring contract; Jefferson, Millsap and Harris all expire in 2013 and also could come into play.

There were some rumors on RealGM the other day that Utah was talking to the Piston in an effort to land Austin Daye.

Especially when getting out in the floor and running with Harris has been an emphasis in camp.

His inability to finish at the rim was on full display again last night though. I like that he's agressive in the open court, and heaven knows he runs a better fast break than Deron, but guys sag off him hoping he'll shoot a midrange jumper or challenge them at the rim.

Like it or not Earl Watkins is the best fast break point on the team and that sucks.

Evans somehow managed to weigh less this year than last.

Jefferson tied for a team-high 9-pound weight gain with rookie Alec Burks , who also hammered iron in the summer. The Jazz list the 6-6 guard at 202 pounds after he weighed 193 at Colorado.

Other beefier Jazz players include rookie Enes Kanter (plus eight), Raja Bell and Earl Watson (plus four), Gordon Hayward and Paul Millsap (plus three), and Derrick Favors and Devin Harris (plus two).

Josh Howard remained at 210 pounds.

Miles was the team's biggest loser — in a weight-loss sense, of course. He dropped 10 pounds, going from 232 to a trim 222.

Mehmet Okur (minus five) and Jeremy Evans (minus two) were the only other Jazz players who are lighter than last year.

I'm going to go ahead and consider this a red flag on Burks.

Edit: nope. Crawford is from Seattle, Burks from Missouri. Crawford played at Michigan for one year. Maybe he was just being polite? I can't imagine.
