"Big" Al on defense:
If they've been so good defending the pick and roll, what is going wrong to the point of the team being 29th in the league in eFG% defense over the last 20 games? And why do teams always involve Al's man when they run the SnR?"I think from the last game, before the last game we've been doing a pretty good job on the pick and rolls, in my opinion. You may have a different opinion. ... Last game was just one of them games that things just went wrong..I just think you can't judge that based off the last game, everything went bad last game. I think before that we been defending the pick and roll pretty good."

Grantland daydreaming scenarios for the Jazz. This one is Al for Dragic and Frye in a three-way deal with Atlanta.

Second unit playing much better than in the Houston game. Al and Milsap still appear disengaged. And has there ever been a worse defensive backcourt in the NBA (Tinsley, Watson, Foye, Burks)? Absolutely no player in uniform to stop the ball. Gordon's loss is certainly noticeable again tonight."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I don't love it but prefer David to the Lowry proposal, I think.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostGrantland daydreaming scenarios for the Jazz. This one is Al for Dragic and Frye in a three-way deal with Atlanta.

Interesting that the author thinks Demare is a starter

I like it. It eats up the summer cap space, but I prefer to have pieces in place that define what direction the Jazz are going. Secure the PG position, get Kanter and Favors more time to get them developed since they will be relied on heavily going forward, and see what Millsap does with more focus on him on offense to better determine where/if he fits moving forward.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostGrantland daydreaming scenarios for the Jazz. Though they will be draft best player available, having Dragic potentially gives the team more leeway in packaging their own pick w/the GS pick to move up after a particular player/position.
Oh, and it gets Al outta here.

Marvin Williams' nickname should be The Ghost. He doesn't do anything particularly well nor does he do anything particularly bad. He's just seldom a factor at any point in the game."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Yep. Whenever I watch him I wonder what the hell people were seeing in him to think he was worthy to be the second overall pick in the draft.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostMarvin Williams' nickname should be The Ghost. I didn't see an injury but there was a play during his 5 minutes that pissed off Ty.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostHas Kanter really only played 5 minutes? Is he hurt? He was one of the only guys that was decent during the Houston disaster, so I can't imagine he's only playing 5 minutes unless he is hurt."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
