It will be interesting to see who keeps their gig. I'd bring DJ over for morning and pair him with Hans. I'd keep Jan and Gunther. Gunther is a natural and Jan has made great strides. Jan actually has some of the better sports takes on local radio and is probably the best at explaining football concepts. Gunther is just hilarious.

I'd take Monson over Locke any day. I think a Monson/Gunther or Monson/OC combo would be pretty good.

Hans has more solid football takes than OC. Plus his experience in the NFL adds to his spice. I love OC but I don't think he would beat Hans if one of them had to go.

I say bring him back. Jazz are unlikely to land a better 3, and that is the position where they need the most hope.

I wonder what the price was for Bledsoe during this season? He was one of the guys that I wanted the Jazz to make a move for. But I never thought the Jazz had anything the Clippers would want (without draft picks).

He would instantly have them competing for the 8-seed in the playoffs. No doubt in my mind about that. That's about the worst way to rebuild, of course.

Contending. That roster plus Anthony Davis and Sloan would win pretty close to half its games. In 5 of the last 6 full NBA seasons, the 8 seed in the East has been below .500.

One could assume that Charlotte also adds a player via free agency. However, their GM is on record as saying that his rebuilding project is long term, and he is not going to overpay for a free agent right now to help him win a few more games next year. I can't imagine Sloan being on board with their GM's strategy of developing young talent regardless of whether they give you the best chance to win in a given night.
But, based on your earlier post, you are assuming that Sloan would do what Sloan does rather than working with the GM on his rebuilding project. Which is why there is no chance they hire Sloan. When Cho interviewed for the Job, he asked Jordan if he was ok with losing a lot of games and developing youth rather than trying to win as many games as possible. Cho joing the team because Jordan agreed with him. I can't imagine Sloan wanting to sign up after having that same conversation with Cho.

They would have to add somewhere in the ballpark of +30 wins to compete for the 8 spot in the East. 5 teams in NBA history have had that kind of single season turnaround.

- C's when they drafted Bird
- C's when they added KG and Allen somewhere near their primes
- Suns when they added Nash playing at MVP level
- Spurs when they drafted Robinson
- Spurs coming off their tank job when they got both Robinson back and Duncan

Duncan and Robinson were both 4 year collegians, and Bird was 3 but still entering the NBA at 22 years old. I just don't see a one-and-done Anthony Davis and Sloan having that kind of impact on the worst team in NBA history. And that's assuming they even get Davis, because there's a 75% possibility they won't. In all likelihood, you're talking about adding someone like MKG and Sloan to a historically bad team (before taking into account FA's). I just don't see it happening.
