Valanciunas sliding...pick Kanter at 3, then send him to Washington for the #6 and...something else. I didn't pay attention last year to see how Washington felt about Seraphin after picking him.
Sam Smith says Utah might consider moving Jefferson to acquire a perimeter scorer like Ellis or Martin, and then using the #3 on Kanter. I've wished in the past about moving Memo's deal and the #3 for Iguodala...I wonder if instead a Jefferson for Iggy swap would work.

I'm not a fan of Ellis at all. Volume shooter who may very well prove to be more hassle than he's worth. Martin is intriguing for what he gives you offensively but is not what this team needs on defense. What happened to the days of having a good perimeter defender capable of being nothing more than a decent scorer?Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostValanciunas sliding...pick Kanter at 3, then send him to Washington for the #6 and...something else. Also, I would welcome a Jefferson/Iguodala trade. Especially if going big at 3 is in the works."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Them are some fast feet. On Favors. And some serious clunkers on Lopez. Watching Lopez get up and down the court during a game reminds me of watching Sabonis.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostLook at Lopez doing that P3 drill compared to Favors.

Hayward is starting from a pretty good spot. He's got plenty of athletic ability to be successful. He's shown already that his body can take on weight. He's got a good shooting stroke, good handle, and good feel and understanding of the game. There isn't much that is broken or requires a ton of work to improve.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSome tweets from the other day but one in there that really makes me like Hayward.
Starting from that point and apparently having a tremendous work ethic really bodes well for a bright future.
I'm glad I solidly endorsed that draft pick 12 months ago.

New rumor (at least for me) this morning is Indiana offering Roy Hibbert and #15 for the #2 pick.
Not sure who they'd be targeting at 2, but my guess is they see Williams as a 4 to play next to Granger. But if the offer was on the table for the #3 would the Jazz take it?

If that offer were on the table for the Jazz they probably should take it. I'm becoming more and more convinced the most important player for the Jazz to get in this draft is a shooter/scorer at the wing if they can't get Biyombo or Valanciunas. With the 15 and the 12, best case they still get Biyombo at 12 and my guess is, either Burks, Brooks or Thompson will be there at 15. Even if Biyombo is gone, they can still get one of the three wings I mentioned above and then either Reggie Jackson or Nolan Smith.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostNew rumor (at least for me) this morning is Indiana offering Roy Hibbert and #15 for the #2 pick.

That's a tough one. He's 24. He's improved a bit each year. Can he take the next step in his 4th season? Not a dominant rebounder, or shot blocker, but adequate and at 7-2. Is he too soft? I don't like that as a center he has never shot 50% from the field.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostNew rumor (at least for me) this morning is Indiana offering Roy Hibbert and #15 for the #2 pick.

I think you make a trade like that for Hibbert if you're ready to make at least one other move to improve the team right now, instead of setting your plan for 2-3 years more down the road. Moving the #3 and bringing in someone like Hibbert means the moving Jefferson for Iguodala or Martin...or in the same deal with Indiana for Granger.
I like Hibbert. He's solid. He's got a solid jumper, he passes okay, and he's solid on defense. His p36 numbers are pretty good, and even though he doesn't get to the line much he's, again, solid from the FT line for a big. I think he'd pair well with Favors. And in this draft the #15 will have some potential value...maybe allowing the team to go after someone like Montiejunas with a possible big payoff down the road.
